| I loved this hotel. It was beautiful. The ambiance, history, decoration, furniture..... I would highly recommend this hotel to others staying in Pisa. My mistake was walking from the train station to the hotel. It was quite a workout. Other than that....It is within walking distance to restaurants and local sights.

| This is a very pretty hotel on the Arno river that is walking distance from the leaning tower. We had a fanatastic view of the river from our room. It is in active nightlife area for college students. Their garage is conveniently located in the hotel. The downside was that the bed was very uncomfortable and the elevator is tiny. The continental breakfast included with the room was mediocre.

| The hotel was not a modern Americanized hotel which is why we wanted to stay there. The hotel is quite old with a long interesting history. We wanted the feel of old Italy. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed watching the sunset from the patio on the 4th floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

| Well, we'd heard it could be noisy, but thought that on the top floor would be OK; it wasn't. The street noise is somehow amplified next to the river, and the windows appear not very good at keeping it out. I live in a city and am not terribly affected by street noise, but this was particularly bad. Next time I would opt for a room in the back even though the view isn't as good. Otherwise the hotel is quite pretty with a sort of faded Victorian charm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfasts served downstairs were also good.

| On the river Arno north bank. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was quite large by European hotel standards. Other than the tiny TV, phone and lamp, could have been decorated and furnished 100 years ago. No internet (unless you could dialup). No restaurant on-site, but numerous inexpensive to semi-gourmet restaurants very close by. Leaning tower piazza a charming 10-15 minute walk away through ancient Tuscan streets and alleys.

| ...hands down the worst place we stayed/visited during our tour of Tuscany. If you must see The Tower, stop in Pisa by train, check out the Tower and leave quickly - not a scenic town at all. Combine the fact that there is a major university in Pisa along with a US military base and you quickly see the need for all the "juniors" shops and the overall "spring break gone bad" feeling of the town. It's dirty, crowded with college-age kids and simply not appealing. The hotel goes the other way - this place was left in the 1800's - and not in a good way. Stayed in some incredible older european hotels during our 2 weeks that simply left us in awe... this hotel is just plain old. We were on the fourth floor and could hear every voice on the street day and night. As others have mentioned, the beds are very uncomfortable. If you must stay in Pisa, I'd choose somewhere else.

| We just stayed one night in October. We were in a 1st floor room overlooking the Arno, and very sunny. High ceilings, frescos, antique furniture, nun-like twin beds! However there was a lot of street noise through the night (a tuesday) so didn't get a lot of sleep. The Arno isn't that nice, I'd recommend asking for a room further back and higher. Bathroom was very basic, bath with shower attachment. Overall an interesting place to stay, no Holiday Inn blandness. Good restaurant a few doors down, Ill Vechio Dado, open late. Very close to the Tower and nice winding streets along the way to it.

| This hotel was charming, clean, inexpensive, and located in a very convenient area. The only draw back wa that the beds were small twin beds with the type of springs used at camp rather that box springs. This is is only a problem for tall people. There were a few places where steps did not have hand rails.

| The hotel is in a nice and convenient location overlooking the river. The hotel can use some refurbishment. The rooms are large, but are relics of another era. Some may find this interesting and authentic, and others will see the need to do some updating. The beds are not very comfortable.
