| This very European hotel is 10-15 minutes out of Fuessen overlooking one of the area's popular lakes. It is an extremely tranquil, quiet place surrounded by very small villages (settlements?). There is an indoor pool in addition to nearby lake swimming, and there are many places to walk. Limited English is spoken here, but that was never a problem for us.

| A little hard to find (it's outside of Fuessen) so check maps before drive. Wonderful small hotel, built late 30's, updated and expanded occasionally over the years. Staff wonderful. Professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and they call you by name. Beautiful restaurant with good food & excellent service. (And after we ate once in the restaurant, the spot became OUR table. During our stay all the guests ate at THEIR table each meal. Guests recognized and greeted each other each meal.) Good-sized, comfortable rooms. Close and easy drive to Fuessen and Neuschwanstein.

| Hotel Bergruh in Fuessen, Germany was amazing. The view from our room window/balcony was breathtaking- reserve a room "lakeside", it is so worth the extra $. The staff were friendly and helpful- a family run place with charming decor. The food was wonderful- breakfast and dinner. The cleanliness was immaculate. This hotel sits out of the town of fuessen, on a hill top on the Weissen See, just far enough away from the tourists visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. The walk around the Weissen Lake was beautiful- you can also rent bikes. Oh did I mention the view of the German Alps in the background- Right out of the sound of music! When I return to Germany- I'm definately staying at The Hotel Bergruh!!!
