Features
What to expect: The stage-like lobby is framed by floor-to-ceiling curtains and furnished with leopard-print seats, throne-like sofas, funky lamps, and a gas fireplace. Hallways decked with intricate compass designs accentuate the hotel’s nautical theme. Marlowe caters to business and leisure travelers attracted to its high-tech rooms, Cambridge location, and pet-friendly atmosphere. Amenity highlights: Named for English Renaissance dramatist and poet Christopher Marlowe, this hotel pays tribute to its literary origins by hosting frequent readings with notable local authors in the lobby. The lobby is also the site of complimentary morning coffee and a wine hour every evening by the fireplace. The hotel is across the street from the Charles River Esplanade and adjoins the CambridgeSide Galleria shopping center. Complimentary car service to Cambridge and Boston destinations, including the Financial District, is offered weekday mornings. Insider tip: Guests can borrow one of the hotel’s complimentary mountain bikes and ride along the Charles River Esplanade, a scenic 17-mile loop past bridges, parks, and marinas that afford spectacular city views. The Esplanade’s tree-lined paths, which include both paved and unpaved trails, are also popular for jogging and in-line skating.
Bambara - Overlooking the Charles River, Bambara has an exhibition kitchen and is furnished with deep-cushioned booths and high bar tables. Cuisine is American brasserie-style with an emphasis on creative seafood specialties, as well as an international selection of wines. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served weekdays, and lunch and dinner on weekends. Room service is available 24 hours daily. A patio is open for outdoor dining during warm weather.

| Swanky and spotless. Clean and nicely furnished rooms. Perhaps a bit gawdy.

| The hotel was very clean and well run. Check in and out was pleasant. The room was unexpectedly swanky. Free wine servings in the evenings also a plus.

| I love Klimpton hotels, and on the surface this one lived up to the others I've stayed in. Funky decor, great free wine hour, etc. But the front desk and bellmen were at best apathetic ... completely disinterested in helping with suitcases or making guests' stays nice. My bags had been delivered by my airline and no one at the front desk bothered to contact me. Once I got in touch with the bellmen, I was told the bags would be delivered. An hour later, nothing. Small things like this really impeded upon my enjoyment of the hotel. The location is horrid. There's a mall next door which pretty much sums up the activity options for the area. Accessing Harvard Square was a $15 cab ride or a 3+ mile walk. Don't be deceived by their claim of "close to Harvard!"

| It is almost like too good to be true. People were unbelievably friendly. Extremely courteous, classy and accommodating. It is clean and nicely decorated. Rate is very reasonable. Never experienced this good a feeling in any other hotels I stayed in United States. I'll only stay there everytime when I good back to Boston.

| Excellent location, a nice walk over the bridge into Boston, great for views across the river. Helpful staff, cool decor _ loved the leopard skin bath robes. Free wine tasting was a bonus. Food good in the restaurant. One complaint - the aircon was turned up so high in the restaurant we froze over dinner.

| If you're trip is centered in Cambridge this is a great location. If you have a car. It is next to the Green Line so the subway is also an option. Great facility overal. WiFi *and* ethernet cable in the room. Sound system that came with a cable to plug my iPod in! Many eating options right there. The parking facility was a drag but do-able. The staff was great.
