| After searching for this hotel for three hours, we finally found that we had to go up a dark side alley, ring a barely legible bell, and then entered a dark, dreary, garbage-strewn courtyard, stumbling up some stairs to find an elevator to take us to the 3rd floor of this building where the hotel is located. Our day host was a lovely, helpful man, the night hosts were frankly out-of-it and downright rude. The room was pretty but we had booked a canal view that happened only if you really craned your neck out of the window, otherwise the view was of another building and pigeons. Beware if you're women traveling, as this entrance was left open at night and was completely dark and scary!

| Well, just so you know this hotel is on 2 canals. The Grand Canal, which one room gets the view of, and the others that have the side canal view. All of the hotel is on half of the 3rd story, which does have an elevator. Our room had the side canal room which was really awesome! It is sometimes packed with gondolas! they are great to hear and watch from your room. You can also see a slice of the grand canal. The only drawbacks of this hotel as far as I could see were: a motor noise that turned on every couple of minutes, probably a water pump turning on. It wasn't too loud, but it was noticeable. We could also hear the water busses because you are very close to the Rialto stops. We had a broken shower handle holder in our shower. But it was nice to have a bathtub! The people are very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a friendly person to come back to each night.
