In fact, it’s located on one of the San Juans—Fidalgo Island, a lesser-known isle whose main city, Anacortes, serves as a jumping-off point for trips to the outer islands or the inland Skagit Valley and its famous tulip fields. Just 7 miles from the ferry terminal, the Inn is convenient for day-trippers who want to catch an early ferry or travelers who want to explore Anacortes itself, nearby beaches, and the popular Deception Pass State Park. The hotel’s conference facilities, outdoor pool, complimentary breakfast, and hot tub make it a solid bet.

The Fidalgo Country Inn is just outside of Anacortes and within 15 minutes drive of the ferry dock for the San Juan Islands. The rooms are comfortable, especially the beds! Noise from the highway is noticeable, but not if the window is closed and the air conditioning on. No elevator, so second floor rooms require climbing stairs. Nice continental breakfast included in the lobby.
