    Barcelo Bavaro Golf Hotel All Inclusive Amenities
    The majority of amenities, activities, and gratuities at this resort are included in the room rate; guests will not be charged extra for the majority of amenities and activities (scroll up to the All-Inclusive Details section for more information).

    Children's clubs at three companion hotels offer supervised outdoor activities for ages 4–12. A fitness center at the Barceló Bávaro Palace Hotel contains cardio machines, a Universal gym, and free weights. Massage (surcharge) is available in beach cabanas and in a beauty salon at the Barceló Bávaro Beach Hotel. The Barceló Bávaro Casino Hotel features a 24-hour casino with 18 game tables and slot machines and an air-conditioned theater for the Tropicalissimo show. Computers offer high-speed access (surcharge) at Internet centers in the Barceló Bávaro Beach Hotel and the resort's convention center.

    Ground transportation:
    Shuttle vans and private cars of varying prices are available. They can be reserved during the process of booking a reservation for this hotel, via this Web site, and added to the total trip cost.

     

    Recreation
    The majority of recreational activities and facilities described below are included in the room rate for this resort (scroll up to the All-Inclusive Details section for more information).

    Flanked by a wooden sundeck furnished with padded lounge chairs, a 31m (102-ft) freeform pool includes a separate children's section. Guests also enjoy access to the pools at the four companion hotels. The resort is located along a 3-km (2-mi) stretch of 32-km (20-mi) Punta Cana Beach, where light-colored sand meets the Atlantic Ocean.

    The hotel supplies kayaks, pedal boats, and snorkeling gear. Windsurfers, sailboats, and speed boats may be rented. Parasailing, banana-boating, tubing, fishing, glass-bottom-boat trips, scuba-diving instruction/certification classes, and scuba-diving and snorkeling excursions are available for surcharges.

    The resort includes an 18-hole golf course. Guests must pay greens fees and can rent equipment and golf carts. All-Inclusive facilities include miniature golf, lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, a soccer field, and a baseball field. Horseback riding is available for a surcharge.

    What to expect: Catering to an international clientele (possibility of topless sunbathing) of couples and families, the Barceló Bávaro Resort comprises five All-Inclusive hotels, a casino, a golf course, and a large convention center linked by complimentary motorized shuttle "trains" running from 8 AM to 4 AM (schedule subject to change).

    Located near the resort’s western boundary, this 126-room hotel adjoins the golf course. The beach is 200m (219 yds) away.

    Guests of this hotel may eat at all All-Inclusive-plan restaurants in four of the hotels. (Two fine-dining restaurants are not covered by the All-Inclusive Plan.) Guests must pay for their meals at the Barceló Bávaro Palace Hotel's restaurants and La Fuente restaurant. Guests of all hotels may drink at all bars and discos within the resort.

    Guests of each hotel enjoy access to the entire resort's recreation and entertainment facilities and activities, including pools, water sports, land sports, children's clubs, and open-air theaters for nightly shows.

    Barceló Bávaro Beach Hotel is situated on the beach in the resort's center. It offers 600 guestrooms.

    Barceló Bávaro Caribe Hotel is situated on the beach near the resort's southern end. It offers 401 guestrooms.

    Barceló Bávaro Casino Hotel is 300m (328 yds) from the beach, is flanked by the golf course, and contains the resort's 24-hour casino and the air-conditioned theater for the musical show Tropicalissimo. It offers 236 guestrooms.

    Barceló Bávaro Palace Hotel is a beachfront hotel adjacent to the convention center at the resort's northern end, away from the other hotels. It offers 558 guestrooms.

    We visited Punta Cana for the first time for a long overdue and much needed vacation. The Golf resort was OK but could be much better. Our room was a very nice room and we really appreciated the space. However, the room was infested with mosquitos and never was cleaned properly. The downstairs bathroom mirror had dried, dead mosquitos on it and the floors were never vacuumed or swept. The sheets were to short and the bedspreads were old and worn. The ceiling fan in our loft never worked and the window seals and sliding glass doorwells had ants. We only asked for a wakeup call once (our last day) and never got it. However, as it relates to the room, the mini-bar was stocked daily, the beds made daily and the waitstaff extremely nice. We never felt any animosity or hesitance with our requests. The beach is phenominal, food was OK (Steakkhouse is the best and the pizzas are good) and the drinks are plentiful and delicious. The shows were also great - just brush up on your spanish. Pools are clean and the casino was a lot of fun. I really loved being able to ride the 'train' to anyplace on the resort I wanted to go. The shopping on the resort is good but you have to compare the pricing. This resort offers lots of activities to partake of or you can simply relax in the warm waters and enjoy your surroundings. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is definitely someplace we will visit again - just not sure if we will stay at the Golf Resort.

    Nice clean rooms(it has actually a bedroom and a living room for the price of a standard room, 2 queen and 2 full beds); fully air conditioned; nice grounds reflecting the tropical settings. 5 hotels in the same resort, and you can eat in any of the hotels with your all inclusive package except "the palace". It has miles of white sand beach, with lagoon type setting (clear calm waters). Golf course(extra fees), driving range, miniature golf(free).

    The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms need updating. The linens were not the right size for the beds and are old and worn, but very clean. We had to tip the maid to get coffee and water, but found unless we gave money everyday we would not get any. Three of our ten days we even asked at the front desk and were told they would get right on it and never did. We asked for a wake up call and never got one. At the buffets and restaurants we were ignored by the staff and and many times were never offered beverages at meals. In addition, at check in we were never given the cards needed to obtain water sports equipment and had to hike all the way back to our hotel from the beach. I believe the hotel needs better management in all areas. To us it appeared they had plenty of staff but no one was making sure the guests were being taken care of. Also, there were many shops on the Barcelo grounds all were offering the same merchandise but all had different prices. Many times we felt as though they were trying to take advantage of us and since the shops were on the hotel grounds it appeared they have the Barcelo's premission. Overall, all that Barcelo provides for the "all-inclusive" is a room and food, very little else is free. Would not recommend, for the same price you could do much better.
