This motel was clean and comfortable. I liked that it had a little refrigerator, microwave, and stove top. When traveling with children these things are very helpful. The only thing I didn't like about the motel was that it seems the maid has missed cleaning a small space in between the bathroom sink and the bathtub. After my shower I happened to look down and saw dust bunnies and soap wrappers collecting there. Other than that the rest of the room was quite clean. The carpet seemed new and the room was nice. Even though the hotel is not far from the highway it was still quiet and peacful. Also, a few days after out stay the manager had sent us a post card thanking us for our stay and inviting us back. I liked that we were thought of as valued customers.

This motel 20 miles south of Flagstaff offered a clean room for my wife, myself and 2 dogs. Easy to get to and very accomodating to my dogs. Then motel is close enough to Flagstaff to allow quick access but also far enough away to avoid the congestion of NAU.

We anticipated a rustic hotel based on the pictures provided. We were highly dissappointed with this place for the price. As was stated by my wife the key word here is "Motel" for Motel in the Pines. The manager seemed friendly enough, but that's about all that this place has to offer. Sure, the "Motel" has a few pine trees as does the rest of this part of the country. It is located just off the freeway and has a couple of gas stations as well as a good breakfast restaurant within walking distance. I suppose the biggest turnoff about this place was the overall cleanliness. The carpets were very old, soiled and worn out. The bedding had a couple of fresh stains which freaked out our son. The linen wasn't exactly soiled but I suspect his at the very least was not fresh. The balcony view is a rock embankment nestled in the trees. We had to pay for the ice. The room had electric cords hanging all over the place which did not help the aesthetics whatsoever. The towels were of insufficient size, quantity and quite frankly worn out to the degree of almost being able to see through them. When we requested more towels from the manager, he replied that it was not possible as the maid wasn't in. "I'm sorry, am I missing something here?". Save your money on this place and pick another for the same price or less unless you are into the shoddy motel gig. The Flagstaff area has an abundance of hotels priced in the same range, and you will do well to check those others out.

Hotel is quite despite being just off the interstate & in fairly good condition. Best points it has going for it is it's location as it means you are ideally situated to goto Sedona/Oak Creek & Verde Valley; as well as the Grand Canyon & Sunset Crater - we even managed to make it to Monument Valley in UTAH (we left at 2.30am & it was worth the 4hr drive to get there at sunrise!) Also has more than average cable channels to veg out with after a busy day trekking :o)

There were TWO dirty washcloths left in the room. The heater was ancient and either blew full blast or freezing. Glad we were only there to sleep for one night.

My girlfriend and I were not looking for a busy weekend, we just wanted to get away and spend some time together, it was great. There is not much around you for dinner, but everything else is only 20 min or so away. It was nice, but a little older. I probably paid more than some of the newer and nicer ones, but it was just what we were looking for and worth all of it. We were in the mini suit with fireplace and fridge, that is all we really needed. I would go back anytime and stay here again.
