What to expect: Blue water, colorful sailboats, and Southern California sunshine create a postcard-perfect setting for this low-key, modern hotel. The bright, angular lobby is decorated with etched frosted glass, white walls, blue carpets, and a glass chandelier. The hotel's quiet location on the tip of a Marina Del Ray peninsula makes it a good fit for peace-seeking vacationers and airline crews on layovers. Amenity highlights: Guests enjoy waterfront- and sunset dining and cocktails, either indoors or out, with scenic views of the private marina. A multitude of water activities beckon, including sailing, windsurfing and fishing. Landlubbers enjoy 22 miles of walking, cycling. and skating paths, which can be accessed less than 1 block away. Bikes and skates may be rented from the hotel gift shop. Insider tip: Upon entering the walking/bike path off Bali Way, guests may turn right to reach Fisherman's Village (with shops, restaurants, and boat rentals) 2 blocks away, or left to visit the local public library.

| The hotel is conveniently located with easy access (driving) to restaurants/shops in Marina Del Rey. The hotel is a bit old, but has been maintained fairly well and has some upgraded facilities. We were not at all impressed with the bar/restaurant, but we also understand a new dining facility is being contructed. It's OK for a night or two, and the prices are reasonable for the location.

| This place is old and worn, the carpeting needs to be replaced it is simply gross to walk on, the rooms are dull and outdated.

| disorganized, unhelpful desk staff; they seem to lose people's reservations regularly, so don't forget to print out your reservation documents as proof; some parts of the hotel are in disrepair; the pool is used a lot but is very dirty, especially along the sides; one of the women who works in the shop in the lobby is very rude; the staff in the restaurant are nice; the rugs and carpets are extremely dirty and stained; still, the location is great and it is affordable. they advertise gym passes but they were not offered to us. If you ask the desk staff for help with anything, they generally refuse and do not attempt to help.

| This hotel is in a nice area. If the management would spend a little money to update the rooms and apperance it would be beautiful. We asked for a non-smoking room and they put us in a room that was in the smoking section of the hotel. The whole time we were next to someone smoking which we could smell in our room. Also, we asked for a crib for our baby and they didn't bring it until we had called three times. I wouldn't rate this a 3 star hotel.

| The desk clerk seemed to think our request for a room with air conditioning was ridiculus. He questioned why we didn't just keep the window open. We did end up keeping the window open, but the room never cooled down.

| The hotel was charming and in a great location. However, the staff is very inefficient, our toilet did not work, and we had terrible service in the restaurant.
