| This was my second trip to Grand Bahama Island, and noticed a significant downturn in service. At Westin Our Lucaya, their well known restaurants were closed. The restaurants open served cold food at inflated prices. I am use to paying a 15% gratuity for services, but the service are invisable. The Island has been hit hard. The other major hotel, Royal Oasis, closed 2 years ago, along with its casino. This is a service oriented location. Without the services it turns a 4 star hotel and "resport" to a 1 star flop.

| Having traveled extensively, I expected nothing more than a decent hotel with a nice beach. Very sad to report that the beach at the Westin/Sheraton Lucaya smelled of sewage so strongly that we did not even put our feet in the water. When asked about the smell, hotel employees seemed poised with an answer related to some vague dumping coming from the nearby channel. Whether it was the hotel itself or the channel, it was only remarkable in the direct area surrounding the hotel property therefore rendering the vacation a big disappointment. While the accomodations were fine, there is no way we would recommend this to anyone at all.

| My girlfriend and I really had a super time. The hotel rooms are nice but the restaurants are excellent. The staff was very friendly. We made some good friends and will definitely go back. I would recommend asking for Perry at the pool for any questions you might have. We rented a boat one day for three hours and snorkeled another. Take plenty of sunscreen and try a lemonade.

| We recently spent 5 days at the Westin in late August 2006. The grounds were absolutely beautful, especially the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. My husband and I got a couples massage, and I got a manicure/pedicure at the Senses spa. Both were good. The gym is better than most hotel gyms -- clean, newer equipment, well maintained. Our biggest frustration was that we felt "nickel and dimed" at every turn. Nothing was free and everything was very expensive. Unless you were willing to eat the coffee stand pastries all week, you could not get away with less than a huge buffet for $23 per person for breakfast. Being from Boston, we are used to high prices, but we're also used to excellent food. At the resort, the prices were extremely high for a lesser quality food. Best restaurant was China Beach. Being end of season, they were out of many thing and lots of things were closed, so maybe it was a product of our timing. At the end of the 5 days, our incidentals (food, spa, drinks, etc.) totaled over $1000 for 2 people and did not include meals we had at the marketplace acroos the street. While I loved the property, I will probably not go back.

| We arrived in the evening and were generously upgraded to a suite, although we had already paid for a deluxe ocean view. The suite was very spacious and nice, but the refridgerator did not work and since there was no grocery store nearby, our only options were to eat at the hotel restaurants. Housekeeping brought us a replacement fridge when requested. The food was very good, but expensive. $9.00 for a hotdog and fries by the pool!! 12.00 for a cheeseburger! $8.00 for a drink from the bar! I suggest taking a walk across the street to the Lucaya Market Plaza and eating at one of their many local restaurants to save money and see more. The pool was very large with a fancy, negative-edge design overlooking the beach. The landscaping was perfect, meticulous, colorful flowers everywhere and very tropical looking. It was all very beautiful. I wish the shops stayed open later. In the hotel they closed at 6 pm or whenever they wanted if it was slow. Even the basic gift shop. Gotta get a spot by the pool early on the weekend or all the best chairs are taken or reserved already. Overall the service was great and we enjoyed our stay. The waiters and bartenders were very friendly, open and ready to help, but don't be in a hurry, they know we're all on vacation and move accordingly! Will definitely go back sometime!

| The hotel was great. The pool, the ocean, the rooms, and the resturantes were all very nice. However, along with many other travelers, be aware of the prices. I would not recommend the cave extravaganza. Not as nice as it sounds. Overall, I would recommend this trip. Nice hotel, but expensive food.

| Beautiful beach and scenery aroud the resort, but the food is mediocre and extremely expensive. There is no other dining on the island save a couple mediocre places. It was the off-season when I went, so most of the restaurants were closed, those that were open I had to wait until 6 PM to get a bite for dinner. Be prepared to walk...I mean walk a lot...to find a place to eat. Then be prepared not to be impressed by the food. Then be prepared for the bill... All in all, I would not go back due to the food.
