The hotel have some old infrastructure that needs to be improved, like the slow elevators. The included breakfast is very poor: There were no eggs, bacon, ham or even cheese. In contrast, the service staff is very friendly and the price is not bad if you consider the location. Last but not least: Expect to pay $20 per day for the valet parking

The hotel room had an awful odor, the bed was like a piece of plywood with sheets. The only good thing was there is a gym attached to the hotel where you can get a workout. The hotel is hidden off of Collins, I drove by 3-4 times before calling the hotel to try to determine where it is located (not on Collins!). There is no parking, so be sure to add $20 for Valet parking, where they park it was unclear since it took 15+ minutes to retrieve a car.

The staff were very nice and the hotel common areas were clean and up-to-date. The pool area and health club were beautiful with excellent access to the beach to rear of pool area. The housekeepers were very friendly and reliable. We had friends in Miami while we were there attending the Winter MUsic Conference that came by our room. Most of them were impressed in comparison to where they were staying because many of the other hotels in the area were more expensive but the rooms were smaller and the grounds weren't as nice. The romms weren't emaculate but they were decent. The decor in the rooms is tacky and outdated, though. My only real complaint is that they shampooed the hall carpets on our floor during our stay and it left a dank mildew smell. I would however, recommend this hotel overall.

The place is being renovated and it clearly needs it. The carpet is worn and stained; the sofa is worn; the furnishings are out of date. There was a funny, musty smell in the room that we noticed every time we walked in. What we liked were the cheap rates, the friendly and helpful staff, the spacious suites, and the beach access. There is a Publix supermarket a few blocks away which was convenient, but there are not many restaurants--besides fast food--within walking distance. The hotel is on a relatively quiet zone of North Miami Beach (not too many people out walking on the streets), surrounded with big residential towers, but the drive to South Beach only takes 20 minutes. The pool is unheated, but the health club has a good range of equipment--though some of it is worn.

The hotel is not great. There are regularly homeless people at the entry to the beach (this may be a problem other places on the beach, but was nevertheless uncomfortable.) The halls were quite noisy with children running up and down up till midnight. Breakfast is not a minute before 8:00 which is rather late for a business traveler.
