| Mexican contemporary fused with desert chic Thirty minutes from Cabo San Lucas and between two golf courses, this 238-unit resort sits like homage to the ocean it faces. Lavish guestrooms feature ocean views, plush bedding, original artwork, hydro-massage bathtubs, and wicker and rich wood furnishings. The open-air lobby is inside a giant archway, a nod to the Land’s End arch that is about 16 miles away. A 36-foot waterfall cascades to the pool below.

Features
What to expect: The Marquis seems much larger than it is, with a multitude of sitting and sunning areas to explore. Families enjoy the shallow pools and poolside dining. Couples enjoy the more private areas and mostly subdued atmosphere. The pristine beach is fine for walking and hunting for shells, but swimming is not recommended due to strong undercurrents. However, guests can walk 10 minutes south to Playa La Concha, where an outcropping of rocks protects swimmers from the waves, making it a perfect place to take a dip. Golfers can play a different nearby course each day.
Amenity highlights: Bathed in a warm yellow borrowed from the Baja sunset, the Marquis makes good use of its ample grounds. Lounge chairs are spaced far apart, the serpentine pools meander aimlessly and everyone has a front-row view of the crashing waves. Indigenous plants and cacti adorn the grounds and giant iron sculptures greet guests at the entrance and on the terrace level. The spa features a climbing wall and a variety of treatments, including massages and body wraps that utilize sea salt and seaweed from the adjacent Sea of Cortez. Insider tip: Bronze statues of winged angels adorn the hotel lobby. By the pool, though, these same angels can be seen frolicking about, sans wings. The story, according to the owner, is that the angels found their paradise, and shed their wings so they could stay. Sure enough, at the hotel entryway, guests see another sculpture, featuring just the wings, floating freely in the mist of a fountain.
Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary Marquis breakfast of fresh-brewed coffee, sweet rolls, and fruit, delivered to their rooms each morning. Vista Ballenas - This restaurant welcomes casual and formal diners to tables inside in a bright but soothing atmosphere and outside, on the veranda overlooking the ocean. Regional specials, seafood and California cuisine dominate the menu. In the winter months, diners can watch whales frolicking just offshore. Canto del Mar - Serving dinner only, the Canto del Mar seats up to 20 diners in elegant alfresco setting.
Canto del Mar - Serving dinner only, the Canto del Mar seats up to 20 diners in elegant alfresco setting. Dos Mares Restaurant and Bar - Next to the pool and named for the two seas of Los Cabos, the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, this casual spot specializes in seafood dishes. El Suspiro - This casual bar overlooks the pools and is next to a waterfall. At the main table, seating 16, a central trough filled with ice keeps drinks cold.

| My husband and I went to clebrate our 20th anniversry without the kids. From the moment we drove up to the hotel until we checked-out we were impressed by the hotel and the staff. The reviews on Expedia were very true. Everything was fabulous! I do recommend renting a car, very inexpensive, and it was nice to have the flexibility to come and go as we please. Make sure to bring cash because all places in Cabo add 10% to credit card charges. I wish we had known that. The only negative, that probably can't be controlled, are the flies. When you eat outdoors they are everywhere and on everything. You spend your whole meal swatting flies. It was extremely annoying and disgusting at times. You definitely will not be disappoited with this hotel!

| We were very impressed with the Marquis. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. The Pools were excellent. And our Private Casita room exceeding our expectations. The small elegant restaurant Canto Del Mar was exceptional. We told the Concierge that we were Vegetarians and he called to make sure they would accomodate us. The Meal was amazing and the service was impecable. We went there for our honeymoon and hope to return in the future to celebrate an annivesary.

| The hotel is one of the finest I've stayed, even for a 5 star. The only drawbacks are there is no swimming on the beach, and the Staff is encouraged to be very stand-offish, so it can feel a bit stuffy at times, especially for Mexico, where you go there partly for the friendly people. I think this attitude is encouraged by the hotel.

| This was a fairly new property (~ 1.5yrs old) and everything looked immaculate. Informal, contemporary luxury - loved the daily breakfast delivered to the room through a small nook so you're not waken early. Food was surprisingly good all around - didn't eat at the gourmet restaurant so couldn't comment. Only downside: no complimentary hotel shuttle to San Jose or San Lucas - should be required for a hotel of this caliber.

| I highly recommend the Marquis Los Cabos to anyone travelling to Cabo San Lucas. The hotel's staff was very attentive and professional. The decor of my room accurately reflected the Baja region and was extrememly clean upon arrival. The hotel's maid service was very professional and frequently cleaned the room. If you're travelling with a larger group and need additional space, I highly recommend the hotel's casitas! The food was excellent, the pools were clean and the water was the perfect temperature. The spa was first class and is a MUST if you're planning to enjoy ALL the amenities of this first class resort. I'll definitely be going back!
