| We had high expectations of The Sanderling Resort and Spa having recently read that this property is ranked in the top 500 hotels in the world by both Travel and Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler magazines. We were not disappointed. What a charming resort property with casual luxury, simply superb cuisine, and a friendly and courteous staff. The setting is as special as the property, providing us with a perfect place to relax and unwind with miles of secluded ocean beaches virtually at our doorsteps. In talking with the staff, the property just completed renovations of their guestrooms and they are beautiful with the added bonus of flat screen LCD TV's and free high-speed wireless internet. We both enjoyed our treatments in the Spa. Dinner in The Left Bank was one the the best we have had, certainly worthly of the AAA 4-diamond rating. Overall we could not have been happier and we still cannot believe how beautiful and secluded the beaches are even during the busy summer months.

| Sanderling is almost finished with their upgrades. Our room was a king bed room in the north inn that faced the sound but had a tiny bit of ocean view as well. Great access to both beach and sound. Road noise was significant until 10pm. Room was large enough and shower was wonderful. Dinner at lifesaving station was quite good, no need to pay more for the left bank. Desk, Spa, and restaurant service was very good, but housekeeping was sloppy. Trashcans around the building were not emptied and robes and extra blankets in our room were not put away. Coffee and paper not delivered until after 7am. Some exterior windows were not cleaned and had accumulated a lot of bugs. But, the location just cannot be beat and it looked like the resort was just waking up for the summer. We had a great time on the beaches and docks.
