| The hotel it's self was nice, but the room was not cleaned properly our whole stay. I made coffee the second day we were there and the coffee was still in the pot when we left 3 days later and the coffee cups were not cleaned either. They took our robes and never replaced them and never swept the floor the whole time we were there. I would not stay there again!

| The hotel was very clean. Our room had a hot tub in the room, which was fun but did make the room a bit crowded. We were also on the first floor and heard lots of outside noise. Also, while the lodge is non-smoking people seemed to always be smoking outside, and since their was no air conditioning we had to keep our windows open all day and almost always smelled smoke. Overall it was nice, maybe a bit overpriced, but accurately represented on this website. We were very comfortable there and would stay there again. Also LOVED the convenient location.

| For a small hotel, the ammenities are great. The rooms are clean and attractive. It has everything you could want - fireplace, heated pool, spa, access to a private beach on the lake, a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, continental breakfast (muffins, fresh fruit, croiusants, coffee, juice). It's within walking distance of shopping, casinos, and tourist attractions. It does not have air conditioning, but it's not needed. We were there in August and needed a blanket at night. I would stay at the Avalon on my next trip to Lake Tahoe.

| My husband and I went to Tahoe for our 10th wedding anniversary, what a great place to go!The only thing we would change is where we stayed. Although in relation to the casinos, beach, shopping and restaurants the location is great (far enough to be quiet, close enough to walk) but it is on "hotel skid row". We stayed in room 12. The first thing we noticed entering our room was the bed. It was huge, and the room was actually tastefully decorated. It was nice and clean, and obvious the owners had put some effort and money into making this hotel nice. We had a spa in our room, but these rooms were not designed to have a huge tub in them, so walking between it and the bed was a bit of a squeeze job. If you want to use the tub, start filling about 1/2 and hour before you want to get in. We're talking slow! The room had a gas fireplace, which worked by thermostat, but since we were there in the summer, we would rather have had air conditioning! It was so hot in our room, even with the ceiling fan on we had to try to sleep with the windows open, which got loud in the morning. Speaking of morning...it is best to consider the continental breakfast a "snack" to hold you over until you can go someplace for a real meal. And be sure to ask for more coffee everyday for your room, we didn't get it automatically. The shower in the room was great, huge shower head, and nice tile. I guess 3 stars is not quite enough for us, but for the budget conscious, this was a decent room for the money.

| The avalon appeared to be an old motel which has had a face lift from the street. Me and family where not impressed upon our arrival but we figured for a holiday weekend we where lucky to get a room at the rate we did. The room although was better then we expected after viewing the exterior of the building. I will say we felt very much apperciated by the staff of the avalon. There continental breakfast was defintely above par of most.

| The Avalon Lodge is a great deal. Located 2 blocks from all the casinos in South Lake Tahoe, you have convenience without the heafty price tag. The Lodge is charming with friendly staff, large, clean rooms, and a nice simple breakfast. I would definitley recommend this hotel to a friend!

| We had a nice stay. It was clean, quiet and had a friendly staff. The cresonts that were served with the continental breakfast weren't anything to rave about, but the Starbucks coffee was delicious. The hotel provided access to a private beach for the hotel guests and it was beautiful.

| We spent one night at the hotel. Best service I experieced in a long time. Two small things, the bathroom in our room needed to be replace because it seemed old and not in the best condition. We also had an issue with dirty towles but that was quickly resolved. All in all I still consider this a good hotel and can't wait to go back. Loved the fireplace in the room.
