| The hotel has some downtown 19th century charm. Small rooms, spartan stainless-steel furniture, reminds a some military or mental facility. I did not find AC or any kind of ventilation in the room. To get air I had to open a window which faced noisy Wall-1st Ave intersection and a restoran-bar on the ground floor. There was a stainless-steel sink in the room, bathrooms and shower rooms are in the hallway. Good for a short stay on a buisness trip.

| On the surface the Ace is very chic, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However the "in room" experience leaves a lot to be desired. While the design may be "Minimalist" so are the amenities, with a few cheap towels, ill-fitting blinds etc. Worst of all though is the noise. Walls are paper thin, and outside noise is constant throughout the night. Don't come here to sleep. Were the rates good, I don't think I would mind so much, but since they are right up there with the less hip but frankly more comfortable hotel chains, I'm left feeling hosed.

| This place was great. It is just a few steps up from a hostel--there are shared bathrooms and few ammenities--but the decor is terrific and the staff is friendly and helpful. The "Delux" rooms cost a little more, but are well worth it; they have private bathrooms and fun design details, like a rotating wall and a shower in the bedroom. Plus, the hotel is walking distance to Pike Place Market and other attractions. Check it out!

| We really did not know hwat to expect when we arrived but were totally blown away by the room. While nothing like it before, the shower as the head board was very cool and the inclosed deck was nice. We will be going back!

| The Ace Hotel is an affordable hotel with a funky design style in the heart of busy Belltown. Some rooms have private baths, but they cost almost twice as much as those without baths, but the shared baths are always available, and they have the tallest showers I've ever experienced! The decor is "retro" modern, with clean simple surfaces and reproduction Eames fiberglass chairs. If you like chintz, this place is not for you! The included breakfast was fine; room also have coffee makers and snacks. Service was friendly and efficient. The location is just 2 blocks from the edge of the free bus zone - handy if you're going downtown. There are many clubs and restaurants in the area - the Macrina Bakery across the street is excellent - but it is a bit noisy on the streets in the evenings. For me and my 23-yr-old son (in 2 non-bath rooms) on a first visit to Seattle, it was the right mix of amenities, location, and cost.

| Don't expect luxury, just a very basic hotel room.
