| My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Europa in Devencenzo on Lago de Garda in Northern Italy. We booked the hotel about 30 days in advance to be sure we had a room with a view of the Lake. While this was part of a 12 day European vacation, it was not the worst hotel we stayed at but left alot to be desired. The hotel sits on a very busy street and we were unfortunately kept awake by noisy passersby, scooters, and cars driving by. The beds had seen better days and were likely the worst we slept on during our entire trip. The cleaning staff needed to pay a bit more attention to the mold in the showers-it's a small thing but likely to sway a future stay to a different hotel. The location is good and central to the area we wanted to explore. The food in the restaurant should be skipped in favor of a restaurant called La Garda just down the street. We chose the hotel because of the free parking and the proximity to Sermione and Verona which we explored the next 2 days. The Hotel is rated a 3-star on the sign but you would be hard pressed to justify it. Hotels wear their rating like a badge of honor on their buildings and signs. I would give 2 or maybe 2.5 stars at best.
