Features
What to expect: Opened in the summer of 2003, this converted warehouse is a virtual dry-dock cruise liner, its nautical theme extending from the lobby, festooned with sails and gyroscopes, to the rooms, decorated with porthole mirrors and anchor motifs. The Maritime National Historic Park Visitors Center shares the building, built in 1907. Hotel guests are an even mix of business and vacation travelers. Amenity highlights: The hotel offers a complimentary wine reception each evening and complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby. A brick-walled fitness center is equipped with treadmills, free weights, and elliptical machines, and guests may receive complimentary yoga baskets for use with the hotel's 24-hour yoga channel. The maritime visitors center appeals to all ages with its treasure trove of nautical history. Insider tip: Just across the alley from the hotel is a rambling structure that was once the world's largest fruit and vegetable cannery. It’s now a vibrant waterfront marketplace filled with shops, restaurants, a gourmet market, and entertainment venues, including a jazz club. Outdoor cafés and old olive trees add to the European ambience.
The Blue Mermaid - Seafood is served daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this nautically themed restaurant. Alfresco seating available in brick alley alongside hotel.

| We were very pleased with our stay at the Argonaut. We got a promo rate so it did not seem too expensive although it is not a "budget hotel" We thought it was worth it for our family. It is centrally located in the Fisherman's Wharf (very touristy) area of SF. I think it must be newly renovated -- everything is clean, shiny, and very well attended by a large staff including concierge and doormen. Fortunately, they seem to know their customers because it is very welcoming to families with children without dumbing down the services. Beds were very comfortable. Maid service prompt. Room Service within reasonable wait. Bathrooms clean. Towels not too thin. It was a real refuge after making our way through the crowds at the Wharf! Only comment --- wish the internet terminals were a bit cheaper, although my husband was able to print our boarding passes for free because airline sites have a courtesy five minute access.

| This hotel was perfect for our family. The room was quite large and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, greeting us as we entered and exited the hotel. The evening wine reception was just what we needed at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. The hotel is a great Fisherman's Wharf location. We would definitely stay at The Argonaut again!

| The price was reasonable, the location good and service was above average. Wi-Fi overpriced as with many large city hotels. Local calls are a buck, which is not the worse. Overnight parking is expensive because you must use their valet service, and there are numerous surcharges so it is not attractive as a motel.

| The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The amenities such as parking, receiving a fax, or even receiving a box from UPS were pricey. I think, for the price paid, I would have chosen a different hotel with more in-room amenities.

| The staff is friendly - the wine tasting time is excellent and the restaurant is very good. We would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone traveling to San Francisco. The hotel was quiet, clean and very comfotable. Everything is nearby so you don't need a car, you can take the mass transportation which is all very convenient.
