| The Arawak is not for everyone. If you are looking for a high-end self-contained resort establishment this is definitely NOT it. However, if you enjoy a funky, friendly Inn-like atmosphere and can look beyond the fact that this place needs some TLC, it is a good place to stay. This place is a little off the beaten path and best treated as a "base camp" - so you should rent a car in order to get to the beaches & restaurants. The up-charge for the upstairs, deluxe rooms is definitely worth it. The Arawak has some rooms with kitchenettes and offers a deep discount for month + stays. The food in the Arawak restaurant is very good.
