Recreation
An irregularly shaped, 115-foot-long pool, small children's pool, and 12-person spa tub provide outdoor fun in summer. An indoor complex with a glass front that's removed in summer offers year-round water attractions comprising a 250-foot lazy river; a free-form pool measuring roughly 40-by-30 feet; a 50-foot-long children's water playground with a mushroom shower, "bucket drops," and rain showers; two four-person spa tubs; and an eight-person spa tub. The beach lies just over wooden stairs that protect beach grasses. Umbrellas and beach chairs are available for rent. Between the resort and the beach a lawn offers lounge chairs for sunbathing. A water sports center 5.5 miles away offers a wide variety of rental equipment, including personal watercraft and windsurfers, and books parasailing flights and banana boat rides. Guests enjoy playing privileges at the private Dunes Golf and Beach Club, which features an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. that has played host to PGA Senior Tour tournaments and the Women's U.S. Open. The Dunes is just one of the Myrtle Beach area's 120 golf courses, tee times at which the resort's golf center will arrange. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the resort; fees may apply.

| This was a great stay for my entire family. One small problem that was quickly fixed. Loved the pools for the adults as well as the children pool. We are planning to stay here on our next trip.

| Overall, the stay was very pleasant with many pools and immediate access to the beach. The three pools were very nice but the lazy river was a bit tight. The breakfast buffet was awesome. The lack of hot water for showers one day was a bit untimely but we managed through. It is a great resort for a family as there were many activities for my two kids to do, including the arcade room. Ovreall, I was pleased and would return.

| The lazy river and warm pool water were a hit with the kids. We had an ocean-front standard room (2 queen beds) and a balcony which was a fine value in the midst of summer right on the beach. Parking was not too bad (just prepare to walk a block IF you return to the hotel late in the evening). There is an arcade on site, small fitness room and a bar/cafe. The front desk staff were effecient and checked us in and out with ease. The room was not lavish but we did not pay a lavish price either. If I needed a place to stay, right on the beach and didn't want to pay a lot for it, I would stay at the Ocean Reef again. If you have a car, it is not too far off the beaten path. We go to Myrtle Beach each year. We would stay again if needed.

| I booked online without ever seeing the hotel, so I didn't exactly know what to expect. However, I was very pleased. The price is economical, and the quality is great. I would stay there again.

| It was a great hotel for what we wanted, we are a couple in our mid-20s and wanted a vacation on the beach to relax and drink beer all week, and it was perfect. There were a lot of families and not many partiers which was just fine for us because we could just do our own thing. The only complaint we had was the fact that the elevators were slow but our only hurry was to get to the beach so it wasn't too much of a distraction.

| Stayed 3 nights in June. I wish I had booked more nights, but just as well, a tropical storm moved in the morning we left. Room was clean & comfortable, with a GREAT view of the ocean! As other reviewers said, parking was a bit tight, but wasn't a major problem. We had a great time and would definatly stay at the Ocean Reef again.

| Room was clean but a little small and not recently renovated. We enjoyed the hot tubs, pools, and lazy river. The hotel seems to be a very good value.
