For what we paid this place was awsome. The beds weren't the most confortable but the service was great, the pools were clean and temperate. The beach was a short walking distance or quick bus ride that runs every ten minutes. The food was good. The entertainment was fabulous. Would definitely consider going back

Bathrooms in room are small. One of the pool has a bar on top of it. If you use that pool and swing under the bar floor, you will notice a bad odor. The good news is that there are other polls. The food is excellent. Our best memories are the marvelous people that work at the hotel.

I went with two of my girlfriends...we had a blast, I also suggest tipping especially the first night you will have a much better time. The staff was very friendly. Remember that English is the least spoken language there. There were a lot of European's who were all very friendly...maybe because we are Jamaican's or something but everyone was very polite and nice to us.

We spent 8 days in this hotel and had a great time just because we planned to have a good time..The people in this place are not friendly, specially the ones in the reception no matter what language you speak.(spanish is our first language)The manager and the waiters at "The Colibri" (one of the buffets) are horrible, we recommend "The Casona" Buffet. The food is pretty good, good variety and 100% safe.Do not waste your time with the Japanese Rest. Worst "japanese Food" ever and the service was so bad that we stayed away from the other 2 "Specialty Restaurants" The grounds are well maintained but the rooms are very basic and the bathrooms need renovation.Beaches are out of this world!!Bring cash! No credit cards accepted in Gift Shops or Tours. If you go for seafood at "Capitan Cook" (restaurant outside the resort)do not drink the water, the salad or the fruit!Cash again...$55 per person and no service.

Most of the people that provide a service speak enough english to get the job done. Everyone was friendly except the people at the front desk. Once you check in, I would recommend that you go to guest svcs to make reservations for the specialty resturants(the line is usually VERY long & VERY slow). If you need something (extra pillow, etc) they will help you (the people at the front desk will not). If you want to take a trip, you book it with the people opposite the check in desk. If you registered for Manati Park online (to swim w/dolphins), you still need to make reservations w/those people. We had a newer room. The bed was as hard as my floor. Past noon (every day), there was no h20 pressure or hot h20. The fresh vegetables are not washed in filtered water. Check the CDC website on what you should eat. Everyone we talked to on the plane had been sick at some point on their vacation. We were sick for a week. We did not drink the h20, so it had to be the food. I planned ahead & got some pesos. Don't bother. Nobody wants them. If you do want them, the hotel has a better exchange rate than the US banks. Bring a lot of small bills ($1's for tips). No one has change, so you will need to have the exact amt or you will be paying more. I never found the tennis or basketball courts. Unless you plan to lay by the pool or on the beach all day, bring a lot of cash. You can't snorkel outside the swimming area. If you want to see something you will have to pay to take a tour.

The hotel complex has been developed in three phases. As a result, in the older phase you will find older rooms, with less comfort and more deteriorated. The first and second two nights, we did not have hot water. Then, they fixed it. The hotel, overall, needs more maintenance and care inside the rooms; however, it has a nice landscaping, about seven restaurantes, three nice and wondelful pools and it is "inexpensive". After I was transferred to the new phase of the building complex, we had a better stay and we enjoyed a very good vacation.

This hotel was not worth the money or time off from work. First, the television didn't work and there was no remote, the fridge was rusted and not plugged in, the bathtub was covered in rust and the water pressure was so low for the cold water that I had to fill up a water bottle and use that to wash my hair. There wasn't any hot water for most of our stay. When we first went in the room, there were no towels and no soap. The furniture was old and worn and when we requested a room change, the man at the front desk and one of the women in housekeeping said that they would rather not change the room because it made more work for them. We requested a cot and they took half the day to get it to our room. On the last day, the tank of the toilet overflowed so that everytime it was flushed, it would squirt water everywhere. Speaking of water, the pools were constantly dirty and the water in all three of them was warm, even though for the length of our stay it was extremely hot outside. The food was horrible as well. Two days before we left, we ate at the Mexican resturant (which was the only one not fully booked) and I got sick the next day. We have stayed in plenty of hotels in the Dominican Republic that were fantastic quality, but this was not one of them and we will not be returning.

Very clean rooms and complex. We were worried about the food because the reviews were not very good. Well let me tell you, it was just great and plentiful. Staff was excellent, especially the entertainment staff. The four of us had a great time and will be back in the future. Ahh ya the the beach and water was just the best ever. Even if it wasnt real reasonable in price it was a great place to visit.

our rooms were less than 50 feet from the pool, bar and one of the restaurants. everyone was friendly. there was a language barrier but if you can speak enough spanish to say hello goodbye, please and thank you--you can get by. the beach was absolutely gorgeous. It was a 2-3 minute walk. Lots of water activities. I twas the most relaxing vacation i have ever had in my life. The resaurants serve a variety of dishes. There is always chicken and beef for those who don't want to try anything different. If you want diet coke ask for coca light. otherwise you may get soda water. the water was beautiful and i have never seen a sky so blue in my entire life. If I get the chance to take a vacation like this again, I would definitely choose the same resort.
