Recreation
The hotel’s nine-hole, par-3 executive golf course (surcharge) is framed by tall palm trees and dotted with lakes and fountains. A putting green is also on site. Clubs and other gear are available for rent at the on-site pro shop. A heated outdoor pool with sundeck, spa tub, and cabanas overlooks the course. Facing the pool, the 24-hour fitness center has cardio machines, free weights, a water cooler, complimentary fresh fruit, TVs, and women’s and men’s locker rooms, each with showers, a sauna, and direct access to the pool. Manhattan State Beach, a two-mile stretch of golden sand along the Pacific, is a hotspot for surfing and beach volleyball. Surfboards and boogie boards are available for rent nearby. The Manhattan Beach Open beach-volleyball tournament is held here annually in late July. The ocean-view Strand promenade is a top choice for running and people-watching (with occasional celebrity sightings). The South Bay Bicycle Trail, accessible from the Strand, is a 22-mile paved path that extends from Will Rogers State Beach to the north to Torrance County Beach to the south. Rental stands along the trail offer bicycles and rollerblades. The Manhattan Beach Pier draws anglers, walkers, and sightseers. The beach is 1.5 miles west of the hotel. For work-outs even closer to the hotel, a jogging map of the immediate vicinity is available from the front desk. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: In the sky-lit marble lobby, music mingles with the splash of waterfalls. Fresh flowers, leafy plants, sea-green and coral furnishings, and large paintings of ocean scenes add color. Guests sip complimentary fruit-infused water and fruit juice. During the week, the hotel hosts primarily business travelers, who appreciate the proximity to LAX airport, corporate offices, and the beach for unwinding after work. Weekends draw vacationing couples and families.
Amenity highlights: The year-round heated outdoor pool has a sundeck with cabanas and lounge chairs. Colorful, hand-painted tiles by a local artist accent the adjacent spa tub. A dining patio with a waterfall, tropical plants, and tables under umbrellas overlooks the nine-hole, par-3 executive golf course. Guests can rent clubs and other gear from an on-site pro shop.
Insider tip: When the Beach Boys sang “All over Manhattan…Everybody’s gone surfin’, surfin’ U.S.A.,” they were talking about Manhattan Beach, not Manhattan, New York. The group used to hang out and hang 10 at this beautiful beach, 1.5 miles from the hotel. The best place to catch a wave is at the north end, an area known as El Porto. Non-surfers can watch the action from the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Terrace Bistro - Casual dining room with garden ambience, wall of windows facing terrace and golf course beyond. American favorites, including salads, steaks, seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and pizza. Breakfast, lunch, dinner daily. Breakfast buffet and à la carte menu Saturday and Sunday. Heated outdoor dining terrace with tables under umbrellas, lounge chairs, waterfall, and view of the golf course. Lobby Lounge - Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking golf course. Cocktails, beer, light fare. Two TVs. Open daily.

| This hotel was wonderful. Great location, about 5 min. drive to beach, 5 min. drive to 405 freeway. The hotel has great fitness center, nice pool & jacuzzi, nice restaurant with outside dining. Hotel and rooms were very clean and nice. The hotel smells like fresh flowers when you walk in, it's a nice touch. The rooms were not large, a little small, but nice and clean. The staff were all nice and friendly. Hotel charges for internet service, business center and parking. Overall, its a great hotel.

| I was very happy with this hotel. Good service. Clean well kept facilities and rooms. And most of all a great, quiet, and safe location, not very far from LAX airport in Manhattan Beach. There is a Golf course on the hotel grounds, that makes getting in a few rounds of golf a breeze. And, there is easy access to the major freeways, and Pacific Coast Highway with access to all the nearby beach communities.

| Didn't really have enough time IN the hotel to comment on the services besides the room. Location was easy to find, lots of nearby restaurants, etc. easy freeway access, close to airport. Would recommend for business or leisure.

| Amazingly comfortable beds, super service, and brand-new remodeled rooms. Many rooms facing the golf course have balconies, while those facing the front of the hotel do not. New linens, carpets and wall coverings are cheerful and clean. My only complaints: The noise levels in connecting rooms are very high. Conversation (etc!) comes through the between-room doors, making it sound like your next-door neighbors are standing at the foot of the bed. Amenities haven't been very well thought of: no mini-bar or mini-fridge, no makeup mirror or full-length mirror. Parking is $12 for self parking, and $15 for valet. The city has (apparently recently) added no-overnight-parking signs to the roads surrounding the hotel, so you really will have to pay.

| You can never go wrong with Marriott. Great hotel, great staff and service. If you want a good place to rest, great resturants in a walking distance, and have time to play a little golf, This is the place at LAX.
