Features
What to expect: Arrayed along the Caribbean Sea near the southwest corner of Puerto Rico, the resort comprises 20 acres of tranquility within the Guánica Dry Forest, a prime hiking and birding site, which is protected by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It appeals to families seeking a moderately priced, low-key beach holiday within driving distance of attractions along the south and west coasts. Scuba divers also favor the resort for its dive center, which offers excursions to notable nearby reef and wall sites. Amenity highlights: In front of the resort is a half-mile beach, furnished with thatch shades and lapped by turquoise Caribbean waters. Two freshwater pools, one medium-size and the other large, lie along the beachfront amid lawns and palm trees. Within each pool's sundeck are an eight-person spa and a children's pool. Less than one-half mile offshore and accessible by a small ferryboat is a coral-sand spot called Gilligan's Island, which is a day-trip destination for snorkeling, swimming, and sunbathing. Insider tip: More than 700 species of trees and plants are protected in the Guánica Dry Forest, including 16 that exist only in this forest.

| First off, the room, grounds, and staff were very nice. The room we had was big, clean, and nicely decorated. All rooms have a patio or balcony that either faces the garden and/or the ocean. The only draw back, no iron or ironing board. The grounds were kept immaculate. I felt bad for walking on their grass. The Copamarina offers two swimming pools, two hot tubs, and two kiddie pools. The swimming pools are clean but seemed a little cloudy and had a little too much chlorine. A big plus was that the pools are open 24 hours. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The staff offered suggestions on local food and events. My girlfriend bought a bikini at a store in Ponce, about 18 miles east of The Copamarina, and didnt realize, until we arrived at the resort, that they didnt remove the security tag. When we told the bartender about our little predicament she offered to bring the suit back to Ponce, where she happened to live, to have the security tag removed. That was really nice and above and beyond her duties as a bartender. The restaurant was nice. Stick to the seafood. The risotto with lobster was very good. The only complaint that I have about the Copamarina is about their beach. Their private beach is a sliver of compact and rocky sand. Gilligans island was ok. The sand on the island was rocky and contained bottle caps and even broken glass. Something that they didnt mention was that you can bbq on the island.

| This was a great place to visit. The hotel was clean and well staffed with great facilities. I would reccommend going somewhere else if you do not have children though, as the grounds are inundated with kids. Also we elected to not get the all-inclusive package, which was a HUGE mistake. You must eat at the hotel restaurants because of the remote location. Paying for meals gets really expensive, especially when drinks are 8 dollars each; the guests that had the all inclusive package were thoroughly enjoying it and said it was well worth it. We went diving and it was some of the greatest that I have ever experienced. The divemaster was wonderful, and there were few divers so there was plenty of room on the boat. We went to Gilligan Island and were unimpressed (also it was a holiday so the place was packed). It might have been better if it weren't so crowded. Overall, we had a great weekend and really enjoyed the area.

| Beach was full of sea grass and shallow. Service was spotty. You have to pay for every little thing...and it is expensive. Partly because it is way out in the middle of nowhere and they know they have you. The area itself is very beautiful but we had lots of ants that they never bothered to take care of after several complaints and they never fixed our ceiling fans. The south is beautiful but do you self a favor and go elsewhere on the island and just take a day trip or two to the south.

| A very nice hotel on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. The beach was not necessarily the best, but waters off the coast were wonderfully calm, clear, and warm!

| The people that work at the hotel are great! Plenty of staff to keep things going. Very friendly. The food was great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The availability of the nonmotorized sports activities is great. My husband learned to sail. We actually had dolphins swimming around us on one of our trips out to Gilligan's Island. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

| We have not issues with the hotel and had a great time. It's location next to the Guanica Forest was perfect for hiking and birdwatching. The pools and grounds were very clean. Our only complaint is that the beach in front of the hotel is not deep enough to swim or snorkel. (There is a public beach down the beach with a better swimming area. "Cana Gorda") The staff were extremely friendly and nice. The breakfast and meals were very good but for long stays it is good to try some of the other local restuarants. La Parguera about 30 minutes away has some nice ones.

| This hotel is an ideal place for families with children who love swimming (beachfront, several pools, one very large one, with fountains and jacuzzi's), boating, hiking, snorkeling, tennis and beautiful grounds (palms, flowering bushes), outdoor breakfast/lunch/dinner pavilion, beautiful indoor restaurant (casual clothing), but it's not a place for people seeking evening entertainment or amusement theme-park type atmosphere. The food is delicious (live guitarist evenings on weekends). They have a dive shop, kayaks, treddle boats and sailboats. The only down-side is that one has to go by boat, drive or hike to get to the snorkeling. Some of the coral reefs are dead or dying (as is the case worldwide). Ferry from the resort dock takes you to beautiful Gilligan Island. The staff is very outgoing, helpful and friendly, eager to serve you. The rooms are tasteful and large and fully equipped, each room with a patio or balcony and garden-ocean views. Most notably, the resort is very affordable. You may want to shop at the grocery store in Guanica to supplement some of the meals. A refrigerator, large TV, AM/FM radio and coffeemaker is in each room.

| If you are looking for a relaxation then this is the place for you. It was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The only downside to the resort is the beach. We found it to have too much weed but it was clean.

| I was most impressed with the beauty of the grounds and the great efforts to keep the place beautiful and clean. The Caribbean Sea is very shallow and great for small kids to play in the sand and water but not great for swimming. The restaurant food was good but overpriced (I am a native Puertorican). The wine list was excellent. Probably all rooms in the resort have awesome views of the ocean. Very nice staff.

| The beach at this hotel is very small and the sea is shallow and full of sea grass. The gardens are very well maintained. There are no restaurants or other hotels within the area, but the hotel restaurant serves lovely food. The hotel is in need of a few updates, the bathrooms have rust on the ceiling and a build up of calcium on the taps. The wardrobes are also in need of repair. There are interconnecting doors betweeen some bedrooms, and this can spoil your stay if you have noisy neighbours.
