Uptown condos with superb red-rock views

Recreation | Features | Reviews

Recreation
The Hyatt has a large outdoor pool, two spa tubs, and a well-equipped fitness center with a dozen cardio machines, resistance machines, free weights, mountain views, locker rooms, and steam and massage rooms. The clubhouse has a pool table, board games, and a large-screen TV with a DVD player.

Jeep tours to the red-rock country are available, and hiking trails, hot-air ballooning, and other excursions are located within a five-mile radius. The nearest golf is at public Oak Creek Golf Resort, with both 9- and 18-hole courses, open to the public. It’s located about six miles from the condos.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: This property, opened in 2003, consists of 12 two-story, pueblo-style buildings with 8-10 condominium units in each. A separate clubhouse is within easy walking distance of the office and condos. Some buildings are still under construction. A graceful landscaped carriage entrance leads to the lobby. The clientele consists mostly of leisure travelers.

Amenity highlights: The large outdoor pool has a flagstone deck with room for lounging, two spa tubs, a wading pool, and child-friendly fountains. The clubhouse has a large-screen television, DVD player, pool table, and tables for card and board games. The fitness center features a dozen cardio machines, resistance machines, free weights, mountain views, locker rooms, and steam and massage rooms. Shopping and restaurants are two blocks away in Uptown Sedona, and the Shops at Pinon Pointe, next door to the condo complex, include a coffee shopm dress store, and art galleries.

Insider tip: Just outside Sedona is the Broken Arrow trail, a popular four-wheel-drive trip. The exciting route tumbles over the steep red rocks against a background of towering canyon walls, magnificent at sunset. The trail gets its name from Broken Arrow, a 1950 Western filmed here.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are several dining options within the surrounding area.

In suite Jacuzzi tub, full kitchen, fireplace, balcony... This place has it all! It's a bit more expensive than the guys down the street, but it is worth it if you are looking for luxury and comfort. Shops are within walking distance. Everything else is very close as this resort is located right at the heart of Sedona. Everything is just lovely about this hotel. I was most pleased with my stay.

We very much enjoyed our room and stay, although travelers should not expect a full-service hotel. We stayed in a very nice one bedroom with separate living area and kitchen. The bathroom was huge, had double sinks and an enormous shower. We had a fantastic balcony with a nice view. Our friends had a single - more like a typical hotel room. It was in stark contrast to our room - no view at all, except into a wall about 5 feet away, and very very dark. They were very disappointed. The pool was very nice, and there was a game room for the kids with a pool table, video games, and board games. The "Camp Hyatt" was a small room with games and a very small playground that would be fine for kids 4 and under, but a bore for older kids. This is not a full service hotel, no restaurant or bar, and you must call for housekeeping. There was no bellman on duty the day we left, so we had to use the luggage cart ourselves. The staff they did have were nice and courteous. The small Hyatt village positioned within a short walk, was nice, with a good assortment of shops. Bottom Line: Know this is not a full-service hotel and snag a good room and you will be happy.

The room couldn't have been more comfortable and the views were spectacular. We had 4 people in a 2 bedroom, so we had ample room. (These rooms hold up to 8 people, but I think that would be a little tight.) The location of the hotel was great also--we were able to walk into town to eat and shop. There also were shops and restaurants available on the hotel site itself. The pool was beautiful in that it was surrounded by views of the red rocks. The gym and game room were also very nice. All in all we had a great time in Sedona, and we hated to leave!

I booked a night at this hotel as part of a longer vacation. My husband was celebrating his 60th birthday and the hotel looked to be a beautiful facility in a great location. Part of this was true. The hotel looked lovely and our room was very cute; however, there were a couple of problems. Upon checking in, it immediately became apparent that the hotel was selling timeshares. A large number of people were checking in for their 3 free days for taking the 90 minute tour. They seemed to have priority over paying guests. When we were settling into our room, we noticed a door to an adjoining room. We thought nothing about it until the people next door checked in to their room. The family sounded as if they were standing in the middle of our room. This was enough of a problem in the day time but at midnight, it was very disturbing. When I mentioned it to the desk clerk upon checking out, she said that they knew that there was a problem and they were going to try to fix it. No apology or offer to compensate in any way. This was not the service I would have expected of the Hyatt organization.

Great condo with hotel-like service. No restaurants or confernces at this hotel, but there are plenty of amenities and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms were very nice and daily housekeeping was impeccable. Plenty of room for 4 or more. The only downside was the babysitting/ Hyatt Camp Runamuka/ which allowed the kids to play video games for 4 hours straight.

The Hyatt is in a lovely setting, up on a hill with great views of the red rocks and just steps from the shops. The basic room we had was very small but nicely furnished including microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. I guess our biggest complaint was that the rooms are not quiet. My husband had to ask the front desk for another room because it sounded like the family next to us was sharing our room. But that didnt help because the other room was the same. So if you dont get a family of 4 next to you, you might be ok. All in all I thought the overall hotel was nice just a little cheaply built.
