| My wife and I stopped for a single night on our way from LA to San Francisco, travelling up the Pacific Coast Highway. The "deluxe" room was clean, but simple, and the bathroom showed some signs of aging. But the hot tubs!! They made all the difference. We delighted in an evening soak (10 PM, under the trees) in one of the big redwood tubs that are situated on the steep hillside. Private, delightfully warm, and... fun! Next morning, we soaked again in the spa located on the private veranda of the room. Beats a shower, anytime!! Best of all, without question, was the food at the restaurant. Dinner and breakfast -- both outstanding! And (unlike at the reception desk when we checked in) the table service was superb. Next time, we stay for three nights!!!
