This is a rustic cabin in a national park. You won't be getting four- or even three-star service. What you will get is a simple and affordable room in the stunning Yosemite Valley, close to every kind of outdoor activity. We had a wood cabin wo/bath. It had double beds and adequate space. I was reminded of summer camp bunk house. My family of four (kids ages 7 and 9) loved it. You are close to evening camp programs, bike trails, free shuttle buses, a swimming pool, mountain climbing and other park services. You'll be roughing it a bit. Housekeeping service consists of emptying the trash and supplying fresh towels. I would have liked the floor swept or vacuumed at least once. The shower house floor was always dirty, so bring flip-flops. Or better yet, plan early and score a wood cabin with bath. Fellow campers were considerate and followed the 10 p.m. quiet-time rule, even on a holiday weekend. I'd definitely go again, but you need to know what you're in for!

The location is excellent. Right in the center of the valley, near Yosemite Village, and has great free valley floor bus transportation. But the place is really crowded. I would guess that close to 1000 guests stay there. I dont know anything about the hotel or regular cabins, but I can tell you all about the tent cabins. There are over 300 of them, and they are all lined up in rows, practically on top of one another. When you walk out of your tent cabin, all you see are tent cabins in front of you, behind you and on both sides. Not my idea of a restful time in nature. As you can imagine it does not lend itself to a restful nights sleep either. Whether its a family with small babies, young teenagers, or just a rude couple, you can hear just about everything. In fact one woman yelled at my husband in the middle of the night because he was snoring too loud. We went in August and therefore all the campgrounds were full. I understand its there busiest time. But we felt like there was no room to breathe and to sit down and relax. I love Yosemite and plan to return many times, but will avoid staying at Curry Village at all costs. The restaurants and cafes were nice and the food was good and very reasonably priced as long as you dont mind standing in line for at least a half hour (easily an hour at peak times). Its really a shame that the owner is more interested in making tons of money (Im sure he does) instead of the comfort of his guests.

It was OK for one night stay, but I wouldn't stay longer. I'm still thinking that this place is better than campground, but be prepare not to have a bathroom, bring light with you, because it is dark at night. It was also an expensive place for this service, but inside Yosemite?...

This is not your run of the mill hotel. From the outside this is what you would expect a POW camp to look like. Fortunately there are showers here and a lockable door - these are the only public showers in the park! Check in was a frustratingly slow and painful process and despite the fact that this is about the only accomodation in the park Curry should not let service levels slip.

A great way to spend the night in Yosemite without actually putting up a tent. Inexpensive, too. Recommended.

If you think you're camping... think again. If you think it's a motel - it's the worst ever. Dealing with the scare of bears is beyond stifling. Carrying food AND toiletries back and forth to lockers is rediculous! Since you basically can't bring your own food, you are forced to eat pizza on the filthy dirty patio with squirrels nipping at your heels or at the over-priced buffet - just when you think the taqueria sounds good you find out it closes at 5:00 p.m. The pool also closes at 5:00 p.m., just when you are back from your hike and want to cool off. There were not ample showers for more than 700 tents (but they were located so far away I'm sure people opted not to shower). There was a wasps nest in my childrens' tent and the biggest sway in my son's bed I've ever seen. I heard our neighbor and his son's reaction upon arrival "Well son, that's all it is, we'll have to make the most of it." I also heard the Curry Village Tents referred to as "the refugee camp." Our neighbor on the other side was so close we were kept up by his snoring. My recommendation is, drive in from outside the park early, do a well planned hike (Mist Trail was awesome) and then get out - and don't forget to pack a lunch. We reserved for two nights and wish we hadn't - the hikes were great but too many people to truly enjoy. Our National Park deserves better.

This was my first stay in this type of the hotel. It is infact independent tents. It gives a sense of staying in a forest in a camp. I would like to try again something like that for sure.
