Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa- A KSL Luxury Resort Amenities
The hotel has a sports pool for water volleyball and basketball and the Paradise Pool, consisting of three pools and a 92-foot water slide. The main garden of the resort is surrounded by shops, most notably the Lilly Pulitzer store, where shoppers find the pink-and-green-flowered frocks favored by Jackie Kennedy. The Arizona Biltmore Spa offers 80 treatments, as well as steam rooms and saunas. Arts and crafts for kids are available at the Kids Korral, and in summer—when families take advantage of low rates—there are themed activities and booths at the main pool.

Extra fees apply for some services and activities.

Valet parking:
$16–$25 per 24-hour period. Secured parking garage with in/out privileges.

Self parking:
Self parking is complimentary.

Fees do not include tax and are subject to change without prior notification.

Recreation
Golfers head for the two adjacent championship golf courses, and the tennis center features six lighted courts that fill up in the cool morning hours. Kids shoot hoops on the lighted basketball court, and folks of all ages try the putting course.

Features
What to expect: Fine cigars in the terrace bar and croquet on the lawn combine pleasantly with a warm, casual environment—the atmosphere Frank Lloyd Wright likely had in mind when he consulted on the resort's design in 1929. The complex of low, angular buildings—with 39 acres of manicured gardens—results in unexpected nooks and crannies revealing deep-cushioned chairs, turquoise-tiled pools, and colorful pocket gardens. The resort feels like the living room of a wealthy, coddled friend.

The expansive lobby holds deep chairs and conversation tables, and a pair of chattering cockatiels welcome guests. Celebrity photos grace one hallway, though there are no pictures of Marilyn Monroe at her favorite Catalina Pool.

Amenity highlights: In the 1930s, invitation-only guests played lawn chess and golf. Today's guests benefit from modern pampering and enjoy amenities such as these: relaxing with a Cactus Flower Wrap at the renowned spa, renting a draped and misted cabana at Paradise Pool, or playing tennis on one of six lighted courts. Guests dine in a garden terrace where orange blossoms scent the air. Traditional afternoon tea is provided daily in the lobby Tea Court.

Insider tip: The Aztec Room has a gold-leaf, domed ceiling, created with 4-inch gold-leaf squares applied by hand. And songwriter Irving Berlin composed "White Christmas" poolside in 1941.

Wright's - The signature restaurant features elegantly presented contemporary American cuisine and a renowned wine list, with seating in the main room or on the patio. Oft-mentioned menu items are the filet mignon Roquefort and the chocolate dessert soufflés. For special occasions, the wine cellar just off the lobby is turned into a private dining room. The restaurant is romantic and the dining exceptional, but dress is somewhat casual, and jackets are not required.

Biltmore Grill and Patio - Diners sit under orange trees by the patio fireplace or indoors at this low-key restaurant. Although some dishes are regional, most are contemporary American, with appealing salads such as the spinach with roasted tomato confit complementing the main-dish meats and sauces. Diners choose from the same wine list offered at Wright's. Guests can even order a table-top campfire and s'mores makings.

The Cafe - Popular for breakfast pastries and its espresso, The Café also offers a quick snack or sandwich midday for the golf and pool set. Tapas are available from 3 PM.

Cabana Club - Located next to the 92-foot water slide, the Cabana Club is a favorite of kids who swim up to the bar to order from a children's menu. Of course, adult swimmers can also order from an array of drinks, and everyone takes advantage of the salads and specialty sandwiches. There is also poolside meal service.

Squaw Peak Bar and Terrace - It's not hard to see why filmmakers chose this bar to film scenes from Waiting to Exhale: There's more going on here than in some city bars. The piano plays; the terrace is misted when desert heat demands it; and those who want to be seen pose against the garden and distant mountain backdrop. Appetizers, martinis, and margaritas are the draw, and cigar smokers gather in the evening. Weddings or large parties are often held on the lawns beyond the terrace.

The hotel is great (nice pools, and grounds, and great architecture). Food was good but not that special. I did not like the fact that there was no coffee in the room and to get room service in the morning with just coffee was over $6. I walked to the Starbucks in the lobby and it was only $3.25 (at home the same cup is only $1.70) Expect to pay for every little thing (even self parking).

Valet was great, room service was worth it, house keeping came a little late in the day (about 3 pm) but they did a great job. I wish I had more time there to enjoy the pools.

Half of the power outlets and lamps in our room did not work. The furniture in the room was chipped and scratched. The grounds were lovely and the architecture beautiful. To be a great hotel, they need to improve the quality of the rooms to match the quality of the design.

Very poor guest services over the phone. Took 5 seperate phone calls to cancel a cabana reservation. Telephone operator kept transferring to extensions where people had not come in for work yet. Spa is noisy. No place to sit back and relax. Not worth the money!!!!
