The airconditioning was not working in 100' weather. The front desk service was poor. It took them 20 minutes before they finally called for the shuttle that was suppose to be there in 5 minutes. The restaurant was not stocked with food and we had to settle for what they had. When our food was finally being served we were told that one of our orders didn't have the ingredients needed for preparation! They asked if we would like to choose something else! A little too late, don't you think. All in all, I will never go back and neither will the other 4 parties that I was with.

This hotel is rated 3 stars but I would say it is at the low end of that or maybe a 2 star. It is a beautiful place. The room was nice - average. The food was ok. The layout is very confusing. There is only one elevator and it is very small. You can use the stairwell if you can stand the smell from the kitchen. The worst part, although minor, is that there was no hotel guide in the room. We had no idea of room service, pool/fitnes center hours, etc. When I asked at the front desk, they gave me a 2x4 piece of paper listing times in tiny print. Very unprofessional. There is a lot to do in KC and this hotel is a short walk from the Plaza area. The hotel offers shuttle service for up to a 2m radius as well. That is a nice benefit. Overall, we were happy though. So, we recommend it but only if the price were more the 2-star range.

We go to KC about 2-4 times a year. We have stayed on the plaza in the past and decided to try it again. We found this hotel and thought that it would be a great deal. It turned out to be a great deal of stress. The air conditioning did not work in our room and there were bugs everywhere. We were moved to another room and the air conditioning was very poor in there also. There were hardly any ice machines, and most did not work. The hotel itself was very dark and just felt dingy. We noticed that many of the air conditioning units in the hallways did not seem to work either. We had to find our own parking and ended up parking at another hotel. The parking garage at this hotel is a big joke. The best thing that happened was that our hotel agreed to let us out of our second night stay. We ended up going somewhere that we have stayed on many occasions. Lesson learned--what seems to be a "good deal" can turn out to be the worst deal.

I was at the hotel and upon check-in, I noticed that a lot of people were in the lobby, mostly teenaged kids...my thoughts quickly turned to getting no relaxation duriung my weekend in KC. Also I thought that the people at the front desk would be frazzled. Boy was I wrong on both accounts...the noise level was very low and the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The parking under the hotel was rather tight, so smaller cars are better than larger cars if you are renting. This also was true at the Hallmark Plaza area as well. The majority of my breakfasts were the buffet at the hotel which was good and well prepared. I had dinner there one night, and it just OK, not spectacular. Again the hotel was nice, but the staff was even nicer!

This hotel has a great location aprox 1 1/2 blocks from the Horse fountain in the Plaza. One main problem with this hotel is the location of the elevator. They only have two at one end of the hotel and the second floor is a horseshoe shape ane the elevator is at one end of the horseshoe and if you are at the other it would be a problem if you didn't do stairs. Also they didn't have many ice machines and several of their pop vending machines were out of order. I had to go to four different floors to find ice and pop.

The room was rather bland, there wasn't a mini-bar or refrigerator. There must've been a shortage on toilet paper and soap as they seemed to be rationing it, one of those little bars of soap is barely enough for two showers and there was only one bar of soap in the room for two people. The room service was fair but our plates were still on the floor outside the room the next day as well as plates from three other rooms. I'm not talking Dinner plates left over night, these were breakfast dishes still sitting there 24 hours later. The location was good as it was only a block from the plaza, but try fitting your car into those little cracker boxes they are trying to pull off as parking spaces (in the garage).

We had to be given 2 different rooms to get one that was not having some sort of problem, AC and toilet. Took forever to fix and the customer service was next to nill. Hard to believe this one is so highly rated. Maybe just a bad week or a sign of things have changed
