    Framon Hotel Manin Amenities
A reading room with a high ceiling, arched windows, wood wainscotting, and a multicolored marble floor features plush-fabric seating. The hotel offers a discount at a fitness center five minutes away by waterbus. The hotel staff speaks fluent English.

    Recreation
The Lido of Venice, the slender, 11.5-km-long (7.25-mile-long) island facing the Adriatic Sea, is a 15-minute waterbus ride east of central Venice. It is the city's playground, especially in summer when beaches and watersports draw visitors and Venetians alike. Year-round, visitors rent bicycles to explore the island, play golf, or take horseback rides. Aside from fishing in the canals, the central city offers few recreational opportunities. Deep-sea fishing is available in the Adriatic Sea.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

    Features
What to expect: Opened in 2003, the hotel interprets classic Venetian opulence in contemporary fashion, with highlights such as Murano glass chandeliers, stucco moldings, Oriental rugs, tapestries, and original contemporary paintings of Venice. The effect is light, airy, and relaxing.

Amenity highlights: When weather permits, guests enjoy their complimentary buffet breakfast on a wood deck surrounded by lawns, plants, and flowers. The hotel's bar also serves espresso, cocktails, sandwiches, and salads in the garden or in a room with a molded Venetian ceiling and original contemporary paintings of Venice.

Insider tip: The palazzo that the hotel occupies was constructed in the 19th century on the former site of one of Venice's seven opera houses. Called Teatro Sant'Angelo, the opera house opened in 1676 and in the 18th century was the stage used by composer Antonio Vivaldi for many of his operas.

A complimentary buffet breakfast is provided each morning in a marble-floor breakfast room. When weather permits, breakfast may be taken in the garden. For a surcharge, breakfast is delivered to guests' rooms.

Bar - Open daily for espresso, cocktails, sandwiches, salads. Molded Venetian ceiling. Original contemporary paintings of Venice. Garden service at umbrella tables when weather permits.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are numerous dining options within the surrounding area.

Nice small but cosy hotel...my wife and I spent 2 nights here. Dining...there's no restaurant on the premises, only a breakfast room...so make plans to eat out after breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good with a wide selection including eggs and sausages. The rooms are cosy but small by US standards and well appointed...we did not get the canal view rooms, in fact, we got essentially no view at all...I personally struggle with the "added value" vis-a-vis the costs of the canal view (unless you plan to spend most of the day in bed} Apart from good ol' CNN there were no other english TV channels....Also there are no internet facilities available. The location is pretty good as it was about 15mins walk to St Marks square and Rialto bridge and directly at a water bus stop. The hotel staff were friendly and quite helpful and a good source of information. You must start your day early and if possible, plan where you want to go the day before to get the most of your time here...There's little or no night life (the city shuts down around 10-11pm) so plan to get dinner before then.

Not a bad hotel, but not worth the price, other hotels we stayed at were much better values and in better areas with more going on. The room was a little small and we expected more for what they charged.

Except for one comment later, this is the place to stay in Venice. A totally remodeled and modern amenity hotel (no in room internet) in a very old city. Excellent service, rooms are modern and well kept up with nightly turn down service. Located at S. Angelo vaperetto stop on the Grand Canal. Get off at S. Angelo stop and walk a few feet and you are at the front door. A very classy place. I agree with the comment that if you are walking around Venice, get a map. Rialto and San Marco are not real close but within reasonable walking distance. Have a map to get around or just take the vaperetto outside your door to either location. The one comment I will make is the bathroom is small and the shower is small (no bathtub). They could have also provided more than one small bar of soap. Expedia rates this a 3.5 star hotel. I would rate it a 4 star. A very nice Hotel and convenient being on the Grand Canal with almost its own vaparetto stop. I am an experienced leisure and business traveler and would recommend this hotel for either purpose.

Located right on the Grand Canal at a water taxi stop. The room was roomy even by American standards. The front personnel where friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. They were right on when recommending restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was looking online last minute for a romantic getaway location. I could not have been happier. For a reasonable price, we got a pretty, clean and quiet room literally on the Grand Canal. You won't be disappointed.

I found Framon Hotel Manin on Expedia. In 55 years of traveling - and 25 of travel writing - I have never been more pleasantly surprised. Our room (#206) was large and quiet; no view, but who cares, with Venice a 5 min elevator ride away. Location IDEAL! Right on Gr. Canal with a vaporetto stop twenty yards away. Escalated our Venice trip from perfect to perfectissimo!
