    Hard Rock Hotel Chicago Amenities
This rock-themed hotel occupies the richly restored Carbide and Carbon Building, a 1929 Art Deco beauty built by Daniel and Hubert Burnham (sons of the great Chicago architect Daniel Burnham). Marshall Field’s flagship store is one block away, and the Magnificent Mile’s upscale shops are about a mile north.

The hotel blends eye-catching, contemporary decor with original Art Deco details, including brass elevator doors on the main floor. The on-site Hard Rock gift shop sells a wide array of Hard Rock mementos, including T-shirts, denim jackets, and stuffed animals. The hotel provides 9,500 feet of function space with catering for up to 320.

    Recreation
The hotel’s lower-level fitness center features cardiovascular machines with individual TV monitors. Millennium Park, across the street, offers walking trails in a landscaped garden setting.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

    Features
What to expect: Guests of this renovated 1929 Art Deco hotel can come as they are, whether in ripped jeans or an Armani tux. The fashionable lobby features around-the-clock rock tunes, boxy sofas, black-lacquered coffee tables, and a lively lounge. Rock memorabilia displayed throughout the hotel includes the dress Madonna wore during her “Blonde Ambition” tour and a drum set, framed records, and wall-mounted guitars from Paul McCartney’s band Wings.

Amenity highlights: The hotel’s Base Bar, a popular gathering place for guests and locals, features nightly DJs, creative cocktails, and fun finger foods. The China Grill offers international cuisine, with a spotlight on Asia. The fitness center includes cardio machines with individual TV monitors.

Base Bar - See-and-be-seen lounge adjoining lobby. Groupings of mod, butterfly-shaped seating, cubed leather ottomans, nightly DJs. Creative cocktails and finger foods.

China Grill - With high-ceilings, multi-level dining areas, and an Egyptian-limestone floor emblazoned with excerpts from Marco Polo’s diaries, this restaurant offers massive portions of Pan-Asian cuisine. Specialties include spicy Szechuan beef, tempura sashimi with hot-mustard-champagne sauce, and ginger vegetable dumplings.

The hip, modern decor was a refreshing, inspiring change from floral bedspreads and gaudy landscape artwork. We enjoyed a free CD with current music, Aveda toiletries, a BIG shower, a good hairdryer, a nice view, and a great location.

Lobby was pretty and comfortable. Hotel staff were all upbeat and helpful. The room was average size, bed was comfortable. One big problem was that the bathroom looked like it had not been throroughly cleaned in a few weeks. The tiles in the shower area were dirty. The cleaning staff did not give us new shampoo and conditioner bottles every day. They just left the almost empty ones in the soap tray. When we asked for extra towels in the morning they gave us 2 bath towels and no hand towels. The room had blackout shades which were great for sleeping. Overall it was a decent experience. The hotel is conveniently located and comfortable, but not as clean or as high scale as I would have expected from a Hard Rock.

My neice and I stayed for just one night, but wished we could stay for more! I have never slept in a hotel where the bed was so comfortable! All the rock & roll pics and things were awesome. A huge tv and stereo plus one big bathroom! The staff was great--very friendly and helpful! We totally enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again!!

I was expecting it to be sorta cheesy or over the top since it was a themed hotel; but it was very subtle as far as the 'rock n' roll' theme goes. It was a really cool room, totally comfortable. Hotel staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered. Totally helpful and accomadating.

Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago is simply amazing! My girlfriend and I book non-smoking room through Expedia.com, but when we arrived to the hotel, a concierge told us that there has been a mistake and that all non-smoking rooms were booked. However, he said that he will take care of the problem and that he will ''hook us up.'' Instead of the standard room that we supposed to get, we got a room with a view on the 23rd floor! We definitely enjoyed it! Another great thing about his hotel is its staff; the people that work there are super-friendly (always willing to assist you, whether be with accommodations, luggage, or suggestions as to where to eat). The bar in the hotel, although expensive (but hey, it is Chicago!), is great as well (you get ''hooked up'' with drinks too!). I will definitely go back to the Hard Rock Hotel when we go back to Chicago!

The hotel itself is great an clean. The front desk staff was unknowledgable. Check was not until 3, they told us 12, they told us we would have a smoking room but the entire building was non-smoking. The bar and restaurant staff was extremely rude. The only plus was the hotel is smack in the middle of tourist area of chicago and on the Magnificant Mile. I would probably go back there since it is in a central location and the hotel is very comfortable and clean.
