Amenity highlights: Guests can take advantage of the complimentary airport shuttle, wireless Internet access, and a self-service business center. Shopping options on the ground level include a jeweler and a store selling art and antiques. Room service is available 24 hours, and overnight shoeshine is available upon request. Corporate travelers enjoy 17,000 square feet of meeting space, including a stately main ballroom with nine crystal chandeliers. Tea is served daily at 4 PM in the lobby lounge.
Insider tip: Diners at J. Graham’s Café can choose the “Hot Brown” sandwich, which was created in 1923 by Chef Fred Schmidt for guests who were hungry after an evening of dancing. The Hot Brown is an open-faced turkey sandwich with bacon, pimento, and a delicate Mornay sauce. The pre-printed recipe is available upon request.

| We prefer to stay at hotels that contain a little of the personality of the city we are visiting. The Brown fits that description perfectly.

| We stayed on a Camberley Club Floor, expecting to be pampered. We were (complimentary snacks, drinks, nice bed linens, nice room)...until it it came to midnight. Our next door neighbors were partying until 3AM through the paper-thin walls, and when we'd finally had enough we called the front desk. Expecting security to visit our loud and very rude neighbors, they instead moved US. Not once, but twice! (the 2nd of the three rooms only had one bed and there were three of us) No apologies by management or adjustment to our bill, noting we were expedia customers and they don't adjust bills to expedia customers! NOT worth the extra money. Stay cheaper on the outskirts of L'ville. Traffic is loud all night, too. We're not picky people and this experience was very disappointing.

| This is a most beautiful hotel! We stayed in the Club Room floor and the bed was so comfy we had a hard time getting out of it in the morning. The conciege level was so very nice with Starbucks coffee. The lobby bar was just rated very highly in The Best of Louisville poll and we agree. Staff was very cordial and helpful. Wonderful hotel, great architecture. Will stay there again!

| Expedia's price on the Brown is a great opportunity to stay at a truly classic hotel at a reasonable price. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, bath amenities are first class, and the history and ambience of the hotel are very nice. Most of the downtown Louisville hotels are equitable on convenience, price, etc., but the Brown has character that the others can't imitate. It's somewhere between a classic hotel and a boutique hotel, but definitely worth a stay.

| TV didn't work, bellboy said he would send someone right away, no one ever showed. Kids were having a party next door. Called front desk at 2 in the morning to have them quiet them down but no answer. Service just wasn't what I expected for price. Great cafe on bottom floor.

| Being an older establishment, the rooms are compact and the walls are thin. We could easily hear conversations, cellphone calls and, most annoyingly, the alarm clock in the room next door. The bath is large and the beds are very comfortable. It is well maintained and efficiently run. I could wish the rooms had a coffee pot in them, but that was minor. Overall it suited our needs.
