Bilmar Beach Resort Amenities
An Internet kiosk is located in the lobby (surcharge). Laundry facilities are on the first floor, near the lobby. Guests have access to the public beach on the Gulf of Mexico side of the hotel. Two lap swimming pools are available—one adjacent to the eight-story building, one at the three-story wing. A spa tub is located by the pool near the front office.

Recreation
The beachfront hotel has two pools, a sundeck, a spa tub, and a small fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment. Directly in front of the hotel is the beach, where guests can play volleyball (equipment available at the front desk) or indulge in water sports.

A 1-mile-long beachside fitness trail extends on either side of the hotel, allowing guests to explore the Treasure Island beach. Bicycle rentals are available nearby as well. Dolphins frequently swim through the Gulf of Mexico and can be spotted from the resort. Commercial dolphin-watching boat cruises can be arranged through the front desk.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: The lobby is decorated with aquatic-themed murals and bright-blue tiles on the reception desk. The hotel is a favorite of families because of its convenience to the beach, and business travelers who use the conference facilities.

Amenity highlights: Guests can enjoy two lap swimming pools, a spa tub, nightly entertainment during the high season, poolside and gulf-view dining options, and a fitness center.

Insider tip: Fort De Soto, 12 miles south of the resort, encompasses 1,136 acres on five interconnected islands. The park has picnic shelters, a canoe trail, nature trails, fishing piers with food and bait concessions, 3 miles of white-sand beach, swim centers, a historic fort, and a museum.

Sloppy Joe's - This 11,000-square-foot restaurant and bar is a franchise of the popular Key West restaurant, with a two-tiered deck for watching the sunset. It serves appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrées (Jumbo Lump Crab Pasta, Macadamia Nut-Crusted Grouper, steaks, and shrimp), and desserts, including Key Lime Pie. A children's menu is available. Live entertainment is presented nightly in season, with folk, rock, and steel-drum bands. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Beach Bar Café - Serving light fare and beverages, the bar is open from lunchtime until sunset.

Pan Fildo's - An enclosed poolside restaurant that features pizza. Open for lunch and dinner.

Would have preferred a room with a balcony. Some rooms did have a balcony overlooking the beach. Teh room was very nice-remodeled- with a microwave and small refrigerator and built in flat screen TV. The beach is very wide at this hotel, a bit of a walk to the gulf. Beautiful white sand. Nice long boardwalk. The outside band at the hotel restaurant was much too loud. We could not eat outside or in because of the volume. I complained to a waitress who said, "That's what bands do"

we had a wedding to attend and we had approx 50 people in town, we visited 3 other hotels that relatives were staying in and we definitely got the best room at a great price. the room was updated and we loved that it had the fridge, microwave with toaster and coffee pot. the toiletries were always restocked and extra fresh towels were brought up right away...there are towels at pool side for those going to the pool or beach, or for hot car seats! wonderful stay. there are two restaurants/bars on premises but no problems at all with rowdy people, we are a police family and felt very secure and relaxed!

After researching MANY hotels, we picked the Bilmar Resort because of other reviews and the fact that it had been remodeled in 2006. We made a GREAT choice!! The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very nice and clean. The housekeeping staff does a very nice job and are friendly! The front desk answered my many questions and were also very friendly and helpful!! We had a room with beautiful ocean view, next time we will get a balcony!! Sloppy Joe's is a fun placed to eat and convienent and the bar at the hotel was nice and relaxing!! This is defiantly a great place to take the family or just relax. I would suggest renting a car because the public transportation is a hassle. Overall, we had a great experience and recommend to all!!

This hotel is right on the beach! The food was wonderful with inside or outside seating. The service was great and the room was very comfortable. The bed was a little firm for me, but still comfortable and I was surprised to have to pay extra for the internet connection. However, a problem with our connection was quickly taken care of and we were credited. I would definatly return to this hotel.

This hotel was right on the beach. You opened sliding doors right to the ocean. It was nicely decorated and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. We had everything we needed right there - food, drinks, beach, pool.

My husband and I stayed for four nights. The only complaint we have is the ice machines were broken and to get ice we had to go to the bar. Lots of kids with families, so this is not a place for a romantic get away.

The hotel was ok but we had a problem with some kind of insects in the room. They sort of looked like little ants and were everywhere. We told the person working the front counter about the bugs, and at the time we were talking to them they seemed concerned but nothing was ever done to address the problem.

My sister, 2 nephews and I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms had recently been renovated, and were execellent. The resort was great- the pool, the hot tub, the beach the resturants and the services were great (although it did take a long time to get our rooms cleaned and the resturant closed for food at early (at10 pm). We were very impressed with how clean the facilities were, the beachfront location and the price. We would definetly go back... it's a great place for kids.

We had a nice ground floor room with sliding glass door that opened out to the beach. There were chaise lounges just outside so it was nice to sit back and watch the sunset. All the staff, from the reception desk to the cleaning staff were courteous and friendly. There is plenty of good food morning to night and night life from Bazzies bar in the hotel to Sloppy Joes at the end of the hotel to Ricky T's across the street. All 3 have live outside music and even the kids can enjoy themselves but when you're in your room you can't hear any of it so it is not disruptive.Plenty of shops within walking distanceand even a McDonalds. We took atvantage of the fridge and microwave and had sandwiches and snacks and drinks so we didn't have to eat every meal out and save our money for shopping.Renting a beach cabana was a good idea as well. The owner comes out around 9:00.I feel like this is a great all around place to stay and I would definitely go back. The only negative is the parking but there is extra across the street.
