| The Travelodge in San Rafael was just OK. The room was clean and neat, and for a place to "crash" for two nights it was alright. When we arrived we asked the manager where the local restaurants were. He directed down the street - "a 10 minute walk." We came back 20 minutes later having found nothing. A Borders bookstore (across the freeway) directed us to 4th street, across town, where we found an acceptable restaurant. Our other sore point was that we were not able to make any phone calls even after they "fixed" our room phone.

| This clean, comfortable, quite adequate motel has proximity to two great assets. One is a terrific Mexican restaurant a block away, and the other is a lovely walking/jogging trail around a marsh with wetland birds and lovely view, about a 1/2 mile walk from the motel. Good food, exercise and a comfortable place to sleep filled my needs perfectly. There is also a public library with internet access nearby.

| the hotel was right off the freeway, the main problem it was not very well marked. the only 'travelodge' sign at the hotel was a small unlit banner behind some trees. the big sign read 'sab rafael inn' and another sign read simply, 'motel'... the parking lot was tiny, and some people don't know how to park making it increasingly difficult to find a spot. other than that, the place was fine... a standard hotel. quiet. clean. i slept well. i do reccomend this place, just be on the look out for the signs. the end.

| If you are looking for a place to stay as a stop over on your way somewhere else, this is great! They recently remodeled and have new ownership... the owners were VERY knowledgeable about the area and knew what was open at 1 in the morning when we checked in!

| I stayed at this hotel for one night as a less expensive alternative to the rest of our trip on the night we arrived. I was very satisfied with the quality of the hotel but don't expect anything other than a clean place to sleep.

| Host complained about how much coffee we had in the am. (4 cups)(coffee was instant). Thank goodness there was a coffee shop across the street where we bought "real coffee"!Had to ask where the complimentary continental breakfast was. He passed us a wrapped bun of some kind from under the counter. No shampoo or other bathroom treats.Towels were thread bare.Pillows were paper thin.

| One of the items advertised was a complimentay continental breakfast, it was none existent. It's one of the things I look for when I have an early and busy travel day. I will probably choose another hotel in the future.
