| The Grano de Oro is a very nice hotel with an excellent staff. They were helpful in recommending sites in San Jose that we wanted to visit. The restuarant has an outstanding menu and nice wine list. We used the hotel as an overnight gateway out of Costa Rica, but it would be nice to have spent several nights.

| We were robbed of everything but the clothes on our backs just before our arrival at Grano de Oro. The staff did a decent job of helping us figure out how to replace our passports and find the police station. The food in the restaurant was the best meal we had anywhere - some of the best ever! The hotel didn't have toothpaste or lotion, even on request, but that seems to be typical for Costa Rican hotels. Overall it was a great place to stay for the area and I would def. recommend it - just keep all your belongings on you at all times!

| The hotel was beautiful, very clean and welcoming. It was a wonderful alternative to "big box" hotels.

| We stayed in Hotel Grano del Oro on our first and last day in Costa Rica. We had the hotel pick us up at the airport for US$ 25 - which made it very easy for us since we arrived late. We had a very nice, clean and comfortable room with a big bathroom. They have two hot-tops on a small roof garden - very nice. Their restaurant is also very nice, with both indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a gift-shop. The only complain I have is that the hotel is situated in a rather uninteresting area of San Jose. It will take you 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the center of town. You can also take a bus or taxi.

| We stayed at Hotel Grano de Oro while in San Jose between more rural Costa Rican locations. The hotel was the perfect respite. The quaint hotel was within easy walking distance of numerous amenities including fast food (if you don't want to partake in the exquisite food offered at the onsite restaurant) and ATMs. The room was very comfortable though it was located adjacent to the restaurant making it a bit noisy at night, though we were so tired and the bed was so comfy that we didn't care.
