We stayed at the Fairmont’s Tremblant Hotel for just one night on Good Friday 2011. The weather on Friday was okay (sun/cloud and about +14 DegC), but Saturday was cold and miserable (cold rain and about +5 DegC). We have stayed at a few Fairmont Hotels, but this Tremblant Hotel didn’t meet Fairmont’s usual high expectations. They press hard for you to use their Valet Parking (C$23 before tips), and do not offer self parking unless you want to park in the Public Parking Lot (P1). While checking in, the Valet Parker’s actually moved our car and asked if we changed our mind about the Valet Parking option when we asked about our vehicle keys. I don’t like giving our keys to any Valet Parking, so we opted for the Public Parking Lot (only a ten minute walk uphill through the town). The Hotel has a few nice outdoor pools, which were clean and warm. It was kind of neat to swim while looking at the still snow covered ski-hills. Rooms and resort were just okay compared to Le Chateau Montebello and Montreal’s Queen Elisabeth Hotel’s. We have been to Le Chateau Montebello three times, and would go back again and again… The town of Tremblant is pretty nice, but April isn’t the month to go. It’s like a very small version of Whistler, BC. In our mind, Whistler wins hands down, as there is much more to see and do!

I highly recommend the area and the hotel. The employees were very helpful and pleasant. They were bilingual; we had no trouble with either French or English. Though a little pricey, it is good value. The resort is easily accessed by air and then shuttle.
