This was a great place to stay but at times I almost felt sorry for the people that worked there. Some of the guests were very demanding and complained about everything, while doing so throwing around their "high social status". We did receive 5-star service and the room and the resort were extremely nice. Me and my wife are a younger couple (32 and 26) and the only thing that we didnt like is most everyone here was old. We really liked the indoor pool and hottub at night and would definately go back. The beach here is one of the best in Florida. A few other negatives is that the parking garage was being worked on and it took forever for the valets to get our car but they were very nice and apologetic, and the food selection wasnt very good, they need just a little more variety. We would come here again, but next time we might come with some friends our age so I dont feel like I am in a retirement home.

September is Hurricane season in Florida so we knew that we were taking a chance but business dictated that we be in the area so we chose Ameilia Island Plantation Inn. The weather could not have been better and the service was excellent. At night from the beach we noticed how many lights lit up the rooms and we were astonished to see that many occupied because during the day we saw only a handful at a time on the beach, in the restaurants and in the stores that are on the resort grounds. We loved it and plan to take our entire family back next year in the summer season when everyone is available. But the two of us will definately sneek back down in the fall to be alone again because the staff was virtually invisible and the area is beautiful. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the bath and dressing area extremely clean. We stayed in an oceanview room and the entryway into our room was a open balconey also that has views all the way to the intercoastal waterways. We slept with the doors open to the oceanside balconey every night.
