I chose this hotel because I wanted to be right on the beach, and this was the cheapest one. I didn't care that the room was not luxury because I would spent the day out. I also figured I could wake up and walk right out to relax on the beach for a destination vacation. Boy was I wrong. I never once got to use the resort's palapas (those straw umbrella huts that shade you from the burning sun). You have to get up at 6AM to stand in line to reserve one for the day. I'm on vacation, and I don't even get up by 6AM when I am at home. So I had to go to the other public beaches and lug my stuff over there for the day. You can rent a car, take a bus, taxi or even walk a good 30 minutes. One I went to called Malmok Beach was not near any place that you could buy food. So again, another inconvenience of not being able to use the resort's beach. At 7PM they collect the chairs so it's not like I can come back at the end of the day and expect to be able to use the resort's beach. I couldn't believe that even in off-season I couldn't get a palapas!!!! I can't imagine the lac of services/products for people who go during prime time. Another thing was the housekeeping- it was OK, but one weird thing. They never refilled my shampoo and conditioner, which you need everyday because the water is so salty. I thought it was because they saw some still left in the bottle in the shower. But that evening I had used it so I didn't have any for the next morning. It never got refilled again.

Great place to stay. An apartment with full kitchen and daily maid service. Excellent air conditioning. Because of the humidity, the furniture and drapes can get musty, so spray them down with air freshener and they are fine. The resort is on Eagle Beach which is by far much nicer that Palm Beach. Stayed here in 2006 for 1 week and loved it so much we stayed here in 2007 for 3 weeks! Too long? I don't think so! The beach and water are so nice that it is a waste to bother with the pools. There are always happy hours. Don't go for an all inclusive because there are so many good restaurants on the island. This is the safest place to be in the caribbean. Been to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Mexico and Bahamas and Aruba beats them all hands down. This resort is in the low rise area. Way better than the high rise hotels, and not as crowded! This resort is the best bang for your buck. Always a happy hour. This is heaven! Can't wait to go back.

First off I never write reviews. Im just too busy. But his place deserves a minute to just say how pleased I was. Honestly I booked the place because of price and location. When I arrived I was a little leary. The hotel doesnt have the curb appeal that the high rises have. Its old and low rise. But dont let that scare you off! The beach is huge and uncrowded due to the low-rise capacity of the resort. It may be and older resort, but whoever owns it definitely keeps a close eye on it. Becuase its spotless. The room was extremely clean, everything worked well, the wifi even worked on the beach! The staff were friendly, the beach bar had good food and priced reasonably. The location was just perfect. I guess you have to consider that since it's an older resort, they grabbed the best beach before the high rise resorts came in. Im a bang for the buck person, but I wont stay in a stinker by no means at all! The Manchebo Beach Resort was a great value and had all the amenities you could ask for. I'll definitely stay there again.

Our stay at the Radisson was top notch. With its lush landscaping and waterfalls it was in my opinion the most posh on the island. Everyone was extremely helpful and willing to lend a hand if needed. The whole area surrounding and including the resort was very secure and safe and never felt an unrest as on other islands I have stayed on. We dined at LaGuna the first night which was great. Palapas were easy to get as its there off-season right now. My recommendations for dinner off the resort would be hands down Gianni's (across the street), El Gaucho, in the city, I cant remember the name but a steak and seafood restaurant right near the seaport casino in Oranjestad. For 45 dollars complete with taxes and insurance you can rent a car for the day which i thought was well worth it. (make sure you rent it on days you want to visit various sites) We rented the car twice over 8 days and even that was plenty. Snorkling at Baby Beach (south side) of island, and there is a Flea Market every Saturday and Sunday between the resorts and Oranjestad, definately hit it up as the souvenirs are much much cheaper than at the resorts. Also when you rent the car stop by a grocery store to by whatever you are looking for if your really looking to save a load of money. All in all Auba was amazing and when we head back next year, my choice of resorts will again be the Radisson. A++++ No complaints at all!!!!

From the moment we arrived, we were very pleased with our experience. The staff is very accomodating and the ambiance of teh resort is a true paradise. We looked at the other hotels in the Palm Beach area and none compared to this. Great location with restaurants within walking distance. We were without kids and this was a very kid-friendly resort and we were able to find quiet areas all throughout the resort. My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and honestly it was the best vacation ever. I have been to other all inclusive resorts and this one is definitely different but I really enjoyed it. The private island is beautiful and I actually liked the idea of riding the boat to the island instead of being right there on the beach because you got to get out on the water. I will say that the bathrooms on the adult part of the resort are outdated, but its not like they are unclean or gross. Water pressure in the shower was a little low for my standards but it didn't bother me too much. Everyone there was so incredibly nice and I loved having so many things to do around the resort instead of being confined to where you stay. If you like to drink then the all inclusive is worth it and I'm really glad we did it for this vacation, but we may not do it when we go back next time because I hear there are a lot of really delicious restaurants outside of the resort (a couple people recommended Madame..... something.... I can't remeber) and there is also American food places like subway and taco bell if you want to grab something a little cheaper. Also there is a supermarket pretty close to the adult side where you can get snacks or other food as well. If you want a little adventure then I definitely have to recommend the Kini Kini ATV tours. It was a little treaturous at times but I never felt endangered. It was just an awesome experience and you got to see so much... DEFINITELY worth it!

Hotel was very kid friendly. Problem is, I am not a kid. Nor was my friend whom traveled with me. We had to leave the resort for entertainment every day and night. And there was only a very small food selection during breakfast and lunch. After 1.5 days, our palates were craving for something new. The hotel itself was clean and suitable. But it's a high price to stay just to sleep. I would have enjoyed it more if I could stay in the resort, say, for a hotel-coordinated volley ball game at the pool, or evening hotel entertainment show. At a minimum, I would have liked some Caribbean music in the pool (anywhere in the resort, please)! Instead, they had kid face painting, Ratatouille movie night, take pictures with birds, and meet the manager (seriously, no beverage served - just "meet the manager"). It's May - kids are in school not vacations. Granted, they had a food and wine tasting, and a Caberet Royale lounge, but all came with a hefty price tag (yes, above and beyond your hotel stay). I saved the hotel itinerary for three nights if anyone cares to see it. My vacation style is that I just like going to a resort and enjoying my time there instead of traveling by plane, and then by taxi/bus all the time once I get there just to have a little fun.

As I mentioned in the title, I loved it so much that I want to keep this resort a secret! Since I found out about the resort through the reviews from other Expedia members I decided to let everyone in on how fabulous this resort is. We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a Tara Suite. Although the standard rooms were great, the Tara Suite was so spacious and luxurious. It is well designed too with a TV in the seating area as well as one in the bedroom area. Even though you don't spend tons of time in the room, it might be worth the upgrade. In the morning you can have a little coffee and wake up while the other person sleeps in a little. Another option for morning coffee is the breakfast buffet at the resort. I found that having the buffet included was wonderful. It was one less thing to worry about. The food was delicious and there is something for all tastes. It was also filling too, so we could just get by with a snack in the afternoon and then have dinner. One of the best features by far was the beach. If you do not like an overcrowded beach with people right on top of each other, this resort is for you. I knew having lots of room between the beach huts and not worrying about getting a spot under one would be really important to me. This part exceeded my expectations, especially when I saw what was available at other resorts. The only thing I would have done differently would be to have stayed longer than 4 nights. I was so sad to leave!

Overall this "resort" was fine. However, I was immediately turned off by the fact that this "resort" was pushing their timeshares the entire time we were there. I could have been told once, maybe twice and been fine with it. We received calls, brochures, and were constantly reminded that we could buy into this resort through concerts, complimentary continental breakfast and announcements on the door. That was a huge turnoff. Another turnoff was the fact that we specifically requested that we not receive maid service. We are private and do not require new sheets every day. This request was ignored. Finally, our room was NOISY. Part of this could be attributed to our loud-mouth neighbors on both sides. Good thing we didn't want to go to bed early because the resort had several events planned in the evenings that went until 11. On the plus side the employees at the resort were all very nice. The room was fairly clean. The location was very good because it was practically on the beach and within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars down the road. Also close to the bus stop. Still, I would still not choose to stay at this particular resort again. Too many things against it and too much competition not to be picky.

Overall, I thought this resort was very nice. We visited the resort Oct 2-7. I have stayed at other expensive all-inclusive resorts and this is very comparable. All the restaurants were good and had a decent selection. The pool and beach were fabulous, the best ocean front out of all the resorts on that strip. The thing that impressed me the most, was the staff how friendly they were. The resort itself is extreamly clean and so are the grounds. There was a nice mix of couples and families of all ages. I would definitly recommend this resort.

Divi Aruba (and the ajoined Divi Tamarijn) was a great resort! The pools, facilities, beaches and restaurants were always clean and accessible. Everyone in the resort (and Aruba) was very friendly and eager to help with any questions. The services offered at the Divi were great, we visited the Spa several times while we were there and enjoyed everything very much! Divi also arranged all of your off-resort excursions through their travel center so you could book tours and snorkeling with the resort and they would do all the calling and booking for you. The food was pretty good. The dinner menu changed every night at the main dining location and you were able to make reservations at other restaurants on the resort (part of the all inclusive dining). However, the breakfast menu and lunch menu changed very little during the week we were there. There was still a lot of food to choose from, but it was the same every day. Also, there is entertainment every night of different kinds. there is always something to listen to at night if you wanted to sit out side by the bar and relax. Overall I think this resort was amazing. Because it's a low-rise style resort there is not over crowding of beaches/pools/restaurants so you never felt to close to other people. I would definitely recommend this to people celebrating a honeymoon or anniversary or any couple going on vacation together.

The resort was everything I expected and more! Everything went very smoothly. The rooms were up to date and very clean. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and the pool. The staff at the restaurants, bars, and pool were curteous and attentive. The resort was very clean. A great variety of food was available at the buffet. It was delicious and included a wide variety of vegetables and fruits which can be lacking in Aruba. We tried 3 out of the 4 specialty restaurants at the resort and all three were great. We had a late flight returning home so when we check-out they gave us a voucher for us to eat and use any of the facilities for the rest of the day. All and all it was a great time. I would definately go back there.

The front desk personel was courteous but for those who arrived earlier than the appointed check-in time, there was no suggestions made or provisions provided to pass the time. Given the state of world travel and varying flight reservations, which the resort has full access to, this is totally unacceptable. We are familiar with Aruba and had our own transport so we were able to "kill" a couple of hours. It was later during the week that we found out that we might have stayed and went to Sunday Brunch at the resort. I find that this was a complete break down in guest services relations as well as extemely poor promotion of ones own facilities. This is not a new resort so this just should not have happened. When we did arrive back it was necessary for us to bring our own luggage to the room as no bellmen were available. We were staying in one of the golf villas so this entailed carry the bags up 3 flights. The only elevators are in the 5 story unit. Again totally unacceptable. The resort itself is beautiful but nice accomodations without commiserate services negates the whole point and is likely to lead one elsewhere as there are no shortage of beautiful resorts.

I just returned from Aruba and stayed at the Tierra del Sol Resort, Spa & Country Club with two of my girlfriends. The resort was very nice and surronded by a very relaxing environment. We rented a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath that was very spacious and gave us room to spread out. Giovanni is a concerciege at the resort and he was the ABSOLUTE BEST to work with. He was very friendly, helpful and ensured that we had good service during our stay. The resort is very spread out, so most ppl rent cars to get around and to get to the main hotel area, which is about 10 minutes away. We decided to cab. It was very easy to get a cab to and from. I would definitely recommend the resort if you are looking for more space than a traditional hotel room. It was a relaxing oasis that was a home away from home. It was also very easy to get to the shopping, dining and nightlife on the island from this resort.

This is definitely not a 4* resort, so if you come in with that understanding, you won't be disappointed. I agree this is between a 3* and 3.5* resort. The facility is little dated but functional. The rooms are clean but very small. Width of room is only 11.5 ft. We had 2 queen beds so it felt very cramp for 4 people. If you have one King bed, I think it'll feel a bit more roomy. Everything was clean and in working order. The bathroom is small and has no A/C. The bathroom has a little old louver type window to vent out steam but at the same time it lets in warm humid air from outside. I did not feel too comfortable in the bathroom because of the lack of A/C. The food was acceptable. There are 4 A la Carte restaurants that you can use where you're waited on. The food is hit and miss. People we met at the resort all had different opinions about the restaurants, so it's highly dependent on individual's tastes. But if are not satisfied with the food at the restaurants, you can always hit the buffet afterward. The bars are great places to get sodas, mixed drinks, beer. Our favorite was the Pizza per Tutti: their thin crust pepperoni was delicious. The service is ok. Just like any place you go, you'll run into servers who are more helpful than others. We did not have any trouble with the servers. Occasionally they seem a little slow during busy hours. The beach is probably the selling point of this resort. All rooms are ocean-front and steps from the sand. I would say give 5* for location. The resort has concierge services like tour desk, car rental,... You can get floats, snorkel gear, kayak, bikes all for free. I enjoyed the bands that played from 7:00pm to 8:00pm nightly. The played mostly 60's, 70's, 80's songs which make it very easy to listen to. There were also variety of entertainment at 9:00pm nightly. With kids under 18 staying free, I can't justify going elsewhere and pay almost twice the cost of staying at the Tamarijn.

This resort was awesome. Everyone was extremely helpful and polite. The resort itself was beautiful and the rooms were gorgeous. The shuttle gives you access to all 3 connecting divi resorts. They even take you to the casino. We had an early flight out the next morning so we were able to complete our checkout the night before. That was also very helpful since we had to be at the airport by 5:30am. We did most of our cooking at the resort so I can't comment too much about the restaurants but from what I heard, they were good. The bus stopped right out in front of the hotel. We never rented a car and didn't need one. $2.30 round trip to wherever you were going. Bus goes from downtown all the way to the end of the main road which is the Marriott. The only time we took a taxi was from the airport to resort and then from the resort to the airport. Make sure to get confirmation of the price before you get into the cab. Front desk is usually pretty good knowing rates. Beaches were very clean and accessible. Quiet area - which is what we wanted.

We stayed at the Surf Club for a week at the end of September 2008 in the new "Navigator" building and were very impressed with the property. One bedroom units were clean, spacious and fully equipped (with stacked washer/dryer). This resort has a wrist band system for pool access which appears to have moderated the reported problem with overcrowding at the lazy river pool. The beach was a bit of a disappointment for us (after nine visits to Aruba we prefer Eagle Beach) but was being widely enjoyed by others. We rented a car because we travel widely on the island, but the resort is a walkable distance to the new mall and restaurant area of the "high rise" area (for pedestrian safety we suggest using the access road behind the resort, not the main drag).

The Playa Linda Timeshare Resort is a place you should consider staying in Aruba. We got a studio room from Expedia and it ended up really being a one bedroom suite. Each room has a great view of the ocean and most have a view of the ocean and pool area. There are plenty of superb restaurants around the resort and therefore a car is not needed. Taxi and bus service is efficient. You can take in a day at the spa, play bingo at the pool deck and learn to salsa and work out with water aerobics.
