We arrived much too early at the hotel. It was 9am. We parked the car in the garage and went to the front desk. She said the room was not ready, but gave us a room number and told us to check back around 12 noon. We stopped at the desk at 11am and the room was ready. We had asked for a water view. The room was great, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The only complaint I have is that the buffet at the hotel was not open until the week-end. We were checking out on Friday. The buffet at The Resorts, right next door was very good, and reasonable too. The Showboat also had a nice buffet. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Lu

After reading the other reviews I thought I would try a stay at the Resorts hotel. Even though at Atlantic City I don't spend large amounts of time in the room and the price was right. The room was extremely plain but had all the standard amenities. They definitely need to clean the rug and update the bathrooms. The view was the best part since it was oceanview and overlooked the beach. After staying at other hotels with ratings of 4 or better I cannot give it a 4 out of 5 rating for anything. The service staff on the casino floor and the few restaurants I went to were nice. The front desk staff needs a wake up call because I could have gotten better service and help from a tree. This is another example of you get what you pay for. It was cheap and so it reflects that is more ways than one. I won't be going back here unless I am desperate for a cheap room right on the boardwalk.

Non smoking rooms should be as such everything you hang up in the room smells like an ashtray when you return from your stay. All hotels should have a way of keeping their rooms smoke free and when a customer does smoke in the room, a way of removing the smoke smell Sorry smokers but yoiu came to a resort area to enjoy the facilities not to smoke. We non-smokers would like to enjoy it also, but without having to deal with your secondary smoke.

We had booked a room with a King size bed but when we got to our room it had 2 queen beds. I called down to the front desk and was told by a front desk clerk that my reservation was only a "request" and that the next king room wouldn't be available for another 2 hours. I decided to call back down and speak to the front desk manager to clarify our situation and she explained that they are usually only requests (one thing I don't quite understand since it's supposed to be a "reservation" and paid for in advance) but she didn't understand why a king room wasn't offered to me since they had "plenty" available. The woman named Dana couldn't have been more helpful, she had the Bel-for bring our luggage with our new room keys up to our new room which she had upgraded for us to a BEAUTIFUL room overlooking the ocean. She gave the best customer service and because of that I would stay there again without thinking twice. Initially I wasn't impressed with the customer service but after talking to Dana (I even remember her name, that says a lot!), my stay was definitely worth all of that. Not to mention the hotel is absolutely beautiful with so much to do. We spent a lot of our time at the hotel because it was just so nice to be in. I would definitely recommend the Tropicana Casino & Resort to anyone!

Mid-week stay good value hotel. Central location on boardwalk, easy access to pier mall. Easy walk to other casinos. Hotel had several good value meal deals, although offered no buffet. Hotel staff polite and helpful. Room and bathroom were clean. Bathroom stocked with extra towels, and they were good about re-stocking with extra towels. Hotel did not charge mandatory resort fee like some of the other casino hotels, which is a plus if you do not plan to use the pool or gym. Would stay here again. .

The room we were assigned was in the Centurion Tower. From listening to people who had stayed in other towers, we made out great. The room was nice. It contained a flat screen TV, refrigerator (but no stocked mini bar), two chairs, a small table and two beds. The bathroom was impressive: a TV in the mirror, a stone and glass-enclosed shower and a toilet room with a door that could be shut. I was surprised to find that not all of the restaurants/bars at the hotel were open during our 3-day stay. When visiting other Harrah's resorts, by using the free Total Express Shuttle, we found that not all of their restaurants/bars were open, either. I don't know if they were closed because of the economy or because we were there during the middle of the week (although, it was summer). We ate at two different restaurants for breakfast: The Buffet (which had an amazing array of food) and Cafe Roma (which had a limited menu). The Buffet is a better deal if you are looking for a full breakfast. Once you find your way to the pool, it's a nice experience. It's not true roof-top, in the sense that you are only a few floors up from the boardwalk...not all the way on top of the resort. The waitresses are very attentive; food and beverages are available. There is one casino floor that it totally smoke-free, which is nice. At other Harrah's properties, you'll find smoking and non-smoking slots/tables right next to each other.

The Sklyine Tower is a great place to stay in Atlantic City. It really is only one block off the boardwalk (closest casinos are Resorts, Trump Taj Mahal, and Showboat). All staff were polite, friendly, and accommodating. The guys who work as valets/bellman are especially nice. While it is true that the hotel could use more elevators, it was never a serious problem during my stay. Unless you're very impatient, it is only a minor inconvenience. The hotel's cleanliness, spacious rooms, and amenities more than make up for it.
