I truly enjoyed my stay at the Iberostar Punta cana! The grounds were beautiful, the food was decent...loved the breakfast offered! and the ice cream bar. Perfection! The room was always clean and beautiful as well. The only down fall in the room was the construction going on next door at the Riu resort and the in-room "bar". Only thing included was beer, which is fine if you like beer but for someone like me who does not like it at all, it was lacking. However, that is a very minor thing. The staff seemed friendly, the pools always appeared clean and the beach was beautiful! I would completely recommend this resort to family and friends and would be more than willing to return myself in the future! Fantastic sums it up. I had a perfect Honeymoon at a Beautiful resort.

This resort was amazing!! Beautiful grounds, very friendly staff, the food was ok. My only complaint would be that we couldn't eat at the ala cart restaurants every night - only 3 nights of the 7. The buffet was good with fresh fruit and bread always available, but it got tired after a while. The beach is BEAUTIFUL! The animation team was hysterical and so energetic. Family friendly but as a couple, we had an amazing time and were never "bothered" by unruly children. Grounds were kept up and our room was cleaned everyday, including the mini-bar being refilled. We were upgraded to a jr. suite which was very spacious and lovely. Live shows with live music every night. We saw a Michael Jackson show that was unbelievably good. The Boogie Nights show was also very fun. This was an upscale resort for a very affordable price. We used the jacuzzi 2 different days. We were able to use the adjacent resort's amenities, so it was nice to have variety in our eating and drinking. You can't go wrong with this all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. We'd definitely go back!!!

Great time! We upgraded to Royal Service when we checked in thinking it would be better since it was just my husband and I. We later discovered that The Reserve has nicer/newer accommodations and has access to almost all of the same amenities. The con of the Reserve is location. It is located in the back portion of the resort away from most of the restaurants and the beach. They do provide transportation by way of trolley to the other areas of the resort. Royal Service has a private adults only pool, a separate area on the beach, and a private dining area offering buffet style meals, also included with royal service was priority dinner reservations. Royal service also included a private butler to assist you and provide transportation around the resort. It was nice but probably not worth the additional cost. The resort was not super busy so it made for a relaxing time. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating! The food was decent but not the greatest. Not much in the way of snacks offered during the day. Plenty of staff around the resort to help you out. Our only complaint was with being approached by people from outside companies trying to sell you either an excursion or timeshare, etc. We will definitely return in the future!

Very Professional staff. Our daughter lost her pacifier and the front desk staff was quick to make a run into town for a new one. The property is very well maintained. Beautiful beach. Great pools. Food was plentiful. The only things I would recommend to the resort is that during lunch time the utensils are put out on tables and not put in bins for everyone to touch (for sanitary reasons obviously). And cooler air conditioning in the rooms. More guest volume over the weekend. Water sports activities are run very well. Entertainment staff very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend this resort for family fun in the sun!

First of all, I dont think this place is much of a party place. You want to party go to mexico. The club there played mainly spanish music all night, I know my reggaton, but not sure what they were playing. The resort had predominately spanish speaking people there, I am american and had a hard time finding other americans who spoke fluent english to talk to. The resort was beautiful though. Loved the palm trees and the setup was nice. You can go to 2 nearby riu properties too, which was nice. You werent supposed to go to the riu palace punta cana, but this place wasnt strict, I went there several times. The rooms were nice, a room to expect from a riu pretty much. Food I loved. Thats the only reason i continue going back to the riu's. Staff was friendly, liked the dinner staff the most because they took very good care of you. I walked the beach and looked at the other resorts nearby and they werent much to look at. If i ever went back to the dominican republic, I would stay at the riu, but I would go with a girlfriend or wife because i got bored a lot there. The shows were ok, enjoyable, nothing spectacular though.

Overall, great experience! Just arrived from the RIU resorts, and had a blast.Stayed @ resort for 3 nights/4days. When first arriving to PUJ, you are kind of attacked by the airport employees wanting to carry out your luggage to the taxi's. Once your on your 1/2 hour journey to the resort, you see the "realness" of Punta Cana. This is a very poor country, therefore making the taxi ride to and from PUJ not that enjoyable. The roads in leaving the airport are HORRIBLE. Once arriving to the RIU resort, you feel like you're in a different world. It was extremely big and a bit overwhelming. The staff is very nice, and if you're a female, BEWARE (lol): the male employees are all extremely attentive. It was nice in the beginning, but very uncomfortable towards the end. After checking in, you are escorted to your lovely room. It was soo nice! Complete with a balcony and all. And yes, the minibar is true! They provide gin, vodka, rum, and brandy in these neat dispensers (along w/ water, beer, and pepsi). The only drawback is the lack of ice. Even some of the drinks from the bar were warm. If you want ice for your room, you can get it from the bar, just dont expect it to be in a container: you will get it in a plastic bag. The pool and beach were great, very quiet and calm. They provide you with towels and lots of entertainment. The only drawback to the Naiboa's pool is the fact that you have to walk a little to get more drinks and use the bathroom.

Strongly recommend people to say at this resort. It is clean, the staff are friendly, and you do not get bombarded with offers for excursions if you do not want to be bothered. The food is good and the shows and disco are fun!! We have been to Punta Cana 6 years in a row and have stayed at this resort twice. It is by far, the best resort we have stayed at. The Rodeo House restaurant is really, really. good! One suggestion. if you are a drinker, it's a good idea to bring a travel mug so that you don't have to go through dozens of small plastic cups. The resort does not recycle. (I dont believe the country does)

We stayed in a junior suite and chose the all inclusive plan. Compared to other resorts we've stayed at, the room was nice, cool, and the bed was more comfortable. The TV was an LCD, but the sound quality was not very good and the satellite didn't work on the last evening of our stay. They did have a broader selection of channels than the other resorts we've stayed at. We had breakfast each morning at the oceanfront restaurant, Turey. The view was beautiful and the breeze was nice by the ocean. The pools were the best of any resort we've stayed at but there were lots of children. The fitness center was fine, except that it was too warm so it was hard to stay hydrated. The foods on the buffets were very similar to the foods at other resorts we've stayed at, not bad, but not great either. There was one man at the Turey restaurant that tried to pressure us into doing a tour every time we went to eat there. The resort was very large and beautiful, but at dinner time, it was hard to catch one of the trains to get to a restaurant because they were all full. Most nights we were very sweaty by the time we got to the restaurants. There were never any washcloths in our room, but we've had that problem at most of the resorts we've stayed at. It was too expensive to get internet service and that was disappointing because our flight was changed going home and we didn't find out until we got to the airport. You could hear everything through the walls of our room.

I am very picky when it comes to resorts and what they offer. Dreams Palm beach is the first resort that I can't wait to go back. Every year we pick a different place to go, but this time we are going back to the Dreams Palm Beach. One thing that I am very picky is the food, which is absolutely amazing at this resort. The food, presentation and service in the restaurants is absolutely amazing. They also have an extensive wine list where you can find famous wines. The maintenanace of the hotel is fabulous (it's been open only for a year, so everything is brand new). Foos as well as liquor is available 24/7, they have a great shows. Me being so picky, my boyfriend is amazed that I have nothing bad to say about this resort. One thing I don't understand is reviews where people complain about lost luggage or the ride from/to the airport, it is NOT their fault, if your luggage was lost you should complain about the airline, not the resort! One thing though, gift shop is very expensive! Better off buying souveniers at the airport! Bring singles, tipping does wonders! Only 15 min from the airport! Do not confuse with Dreams Punta Cana - another resort!

The trip was a great time, besides a couple of things. The beach was very nice, and the hotel resort was also nice. The food offered at the restaurants and snack bars was mediocre, and I did obtain some food poisoning. I'm not sure if it came from the produce (possibly lettuce), or the meat offered, but it was definitely food poisoning. Also, relentless selling of products from workers inside and outside of the resort became annoying very quick. I came to the resort with my girlfriend, not intending to do any activities, but still had to say "no" to the Dominican workers more than 20 times per day because they will not leave tourists alone. I would go back to Dominican Republic, but I would choose another resort, depending on it's review and recommendations.

The resort was gorgeous and the staff was extremely friendly and generous. The room was very accomodating and comfortable. The resort, as well as expedia, provided us with a variety of things to do on the resort as well as excursions off the resort. The only critique I had as far as the resort is concerned is that I wish the resort offered more shops and it would have been nice if the entire resort was open. My wife and I are a fairly well-travelled couple in our upper 20s, and loved the resort. We honestly had a WONDERFUL time at Barcelo, being our first time to the Dominican. Everything was as-advertised. Good food, large facility, lots of places to eat (we didn't have a single problem getting reservations at an a la carte restaurant EVERY night)... The pool was well taken care of and the drinks were delicious... Our favorite part that we didn't know would be was this great little coffee shop right on the resort! My wife and I had a great time sliding in there for an afternoon coffee (or they have GREAT frozen coffee drinks) and one of the MANY pastry selections. A cute little casino (we made a couple hundred bucks playing BlackJack while we were there, a nice touch) and a very nice lobby/lobby bar area. The rooms are classic caribbean resort type. Tile floors, couple double beds... And they have a nice little mini-fridge in case you need a drink between the pool and dinner. 2 beers, 2 waters, 1 coke & 1 sprite. But ours was fully stocked every day! And the cleaning staff was excellent! One thing we didn't expect based on past trips was a bath tub in the basic room, which my wife was STOKED about. (It's the small things in life, right?) Beach was great and water was fantastic. There are a few vendors walking the beach, but that's anywhere on any resort, really. Very pan-european clientel as well, moreso than other islands I have been to. Very few Americans at this resort.

This hotel was very nice for the price. Our room was in the renovated section of the resort and was an oceanview. It was a wonderful room with a very nice view. Some people we spoke with were in other sections of the resort and were not so happy as the rooms were old, not updated and some complained of roaches and sand fleas. We did not see a single bug the entire length of our stay. The food was mediocre but I guess you cannot expect gourmet when they are feeding a mass amount of people. Reservations in the ala carte restaurants and made automatically for you on check-in but can be changed with a little effort if they are not in the ones you wanted. The entire resort was well kept and very clean. The beach was exceptionally clean and beautiful. Plenty of activities throughout the day for those who choose to join. Chairs in the shade at the pool are hard to come by unless you are out there by 7:30 am to reserve them. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this resort.

First Impression were below expectation with the manager David C of the resort. We booked a king bed and the 1st night was stuck in a room with 2 full beds. What was very disappointing was the managers atttutide and lack of apology. We stayed in one of the villias which was very basic, but the rooms in the buildings in the center of the properly looked much better. There was not an iron in the room. When we requested one, we were inform there were none. We could have our items pressed for a fee. If you do not speak spanish choose another resort. Although the staff was very friendly and willing to help in anyway, it was hard to find one who spoke English. Each staff member we met did there best to make our stay enjoyable. There are some positives to the hotel. The food was above average. Be sure to make a dinner reservation before 9am because they time slot fill fast. You can eat at the buffet which is also good. The staff had planned entertainment at the pool and took pride in delivering a great guest experience. The 3 pools were very nice and the beach was only a short 5 minute walk. Lastly, the spa was enjoyable. There sauna was not working but the gym and the massage were execellent. Enjoy your staff if you venture to this resort, but beware of what to expect.

We stayed 8 days 7 nights and loved every moment. The pictures are worth a thousand words.I wish I could upload my pics to show. The resort was wonderful. Our room - Master Junior suite in Block 7 was marvelous! Lobby, pool areas, spa very nice. Resort is spacious. All Master Junior suites are in Block 7. We saw other rooms - Deluxe through open doors/windows and they were nice too. If I had to complain I guess I it was the private salon in Block 7 where you are supposed to have free internet access. There is only one computer and the service was down a lot. They do have a internet cafe for a nominal fee. The food was ok, pretty decent, not gourmet quality but plentiful. Restaurants Mare and American Grill very good. Didn't try the italian one. The staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke many languages. Housekeeping does take a long time, but will make sure your requests are done. Vendors on resort were persistent but friendly. Bar had only house liquor, no brands you would recognize. We really went to totally relax so we did not do any daily activities. Went to the night club one night to burn some calories, small but nice. We would definitely recommend to family and friends. Great resort for the price. Fourth all inclusive stay at different resorts, have to say bedroom was the best.

We researched many resorts in the Punta Cana / Bavaro area and decided on this one. It turned out to be exactly what we wanted. The hotel and related properties span a huge area, and is the first part of a master-planned community that includes the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Hotel facilities are fairly new and well spread out. As a result, crowds on the beach, especially during peak season, are not overwhelming. It also helps that no other resorts have direct access to the beachside. Besides the beach, the resort also includes a native eco-trail that's worth a walk (or a swim in one of the many ponds). There are a few pools and tennis facilities. For extra, you can also use the golf course next door. Unlike most resorts in the region, this is not an all-inclusive resort. Meals are typically included. One general buffett and two reservation-only restaurants are your options for dinner. Drinks can be expensive as they run for more than US prices. The resort is very family-friendly and caters mostly to Americans (and seemed to be a favorite of airline crews). Evening activities are sparse as the resort is geared more towards relaxation rather than entertainment. In other words, it's great for a romantic honeymoon, and not-so-great for a spring break location.

Hotel was too big for us, needed to take a tram to get to different locations within the resort. For the size of the resort the beach accommodations were not enough. If you did not get to the beach by 6 AM you did not get a place to sit. The theme restaurants were never more then a third full but if you did not have a reservation they would not let you in. If you wait till you arrive at the resort, forget about getting a reservation. Workers at the resort were very friendly. The resort was very nice, I just prefer smaller resorts.

My wife and I had a great time at the resort. We were truly overwhelmed by the hospitality of the staff. The facilities were in good condition and there was a constant flurry of activity to make us feel comfortable at all times. We did have an issue with the hot water one day and had to call the front desk twice before someone came to restore it after an hour wait. However, we had not other issues wtith facilities. There was nightly entertainment and something different to do every day. We were worried that we would get bored at some point, but this never happened. We found a great balance between rest, relaxation, and recreation. We strogly recommend the day-trip to Santo Domingo. My one complaint is that the resort was over booked and we had to spend the first night at another resort. Although the other resort offered 5 star amenities, we felt like we lost a day on our trip since we were unable to pack and truly relax. The transition from the alternative resort to our resort was not that smooth.

My wife and I honeymooned at the Grand Palladium Palace in Jan of 2009 and had a awesome week! We would definitely go back to this resort. The grounds were beautiful (amazing landscaping/vegetation), the resort was huge, the food was really good (wow, try the A La Cartes! We recommend El Quijote, El Bamboo and the new Brazillian restaurant...), and the service was so good it was almost obscene -- I'd take two sips from my wine goblet and a waiter would fill it back to the top! Dangerous! We were never bored at this resort. There is plenty to do on the grounds and excursions are available if you're into that. We didn't leave the resort once during the week and we weren't even close to being bored. I was little nervous ebfore our trip about the inablity to drink the water from the sinks (my wife and I both ran for an hour every morning we were atthe GP)in the guest rooms, but there was always plenty of bottled water available. Not an issue in the least...

This resort was recommended by a friend that visited the resort when it open. It is still a very well maintained resort, but starting to show some signs of use. Overall being my first time to Punta Cana, I was pleased. The resort had plenty of activities and the little mini market on site was perfect for suverniors. No need to go to the big flea market into town. It was my husband and I 20th anniversary and the resort staff were really nice about everything. We decided to Zip Line and the on site staff was great. No need to purchase early, same prices as on-line. Accommodation were great, but they need to replace their towels, no fluff, stiff and thin. Not what I expected from a 4 star rated hotel. Have to ask for face towels. We were tossed between paying a little more for their sister resort Elegance, but we walked over and saw no difference. Don't pay extra for the same food, drinks and activities. I did noticed there were more families in Colonial, but Elegance was too quiet. Colonial was more active and lively. Beach area is great, resort location is great to walk down to other resorts. We walked down to Hard Rock to visit the casino. It's only three resorts down. You can purchase wi-fi for a fee, but only accessible in the lobby. Enough to stay in touch with family and friends. Food was "off the chain". We never had a bad meal, worth the stay itself.

On our vacation my husband and I stayed at the Reserve area with a private swim up. The people are very nice and friendly. There is a language barrier, so learn a little Spanish before heading there. The resort is kept up very well. A lot of activities and shows. The food in the Reserve is much better than all the other restaurants in the main lobby. Aqua was the best. Bring a lot of ones to tip. We had excellent services, but then again we felt like we had the resort all to ourselves, maybe because of the recession. The beach was not what we expect it to be compared to the Aruba beach we went to the year before. The wind was blowing sand around, so we had more fun hanging out in our pool. Weather was great!! Bring tons of SPF!! We highly recommend this resort if you are just going for the resort and not the beach. Put this resort on Aruba beach and that would be truly a paradise! Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

The resort was beautiful and well maintained but the rooms could of went either way from what I understand from other guests. My room happened to be spotless the only flaw was the comforter, dingy. All the meals where excellent besides lunch; lunch was bad everyday. The only decent place to get lunch was at the buffet near the lobby of the Bravaro section. Almost forgot this resort is like having 4 in 1 so the complex is tremendous but if you're not staying in the suite section, you can not utilize its facilities. For dinner definitely go to the al carte restaurants. I saw 2 of the resorts nightly shows both were good. Went to the nightclub one night, it was okay. The selection of liquor is horrible, I hope you like rum, but that has been my experience with the majority of all-inclusive resorts. I had a great time there it was just what I was looking for; relaxation with some fun. Lastly, I should just comment on the fact that there are a lot of Europeans not that it would effect your trip but its something I felt you should.

Location was great. Beach clean, plenty of chaise lounges. The grounds of resort meticulously maintained. Restaurants clean and attractive. Have stayed at Sandals resorts in the past; princess can't compare with the customer service we rec'd at sandals resorts. At caribe club, there are no beach drink waiters. You have to pay extra for premium liquors, unlike Sandals. Drinks are weak, unless you tip your bartenders. Swim towels are in sort supply at caribe club. We had to wait a half hour sometimes for clean towels to arrive at the pool. Also, these towels were old and thin. Food was average in most of the restaurants. However, Mama Mia and the El Higuero were excellent. To eat at the seafood restaurant, was extra $30 per person. We did eat there one night, but not the good. Prefered Mama Mia--Good Filet Mignon, and Lagsagna. Half the servers in the eateries were very good, the other half horrible. At sandals resorts, the servers and bartenders can remember what you prefer to drink, after only one day as a guest. It wasn't until our 5th day that a few of the servers recalled what we were drinking. James, Elias, and Max at the Front Desk were excellent, multi lingual, courteous and knowledgeable. The room furniture was worn, especially the mattress. There was mouldy caulking in the shower: ugh! The room and bathroom size were very acceptable and the balcony was nice. Tobacco shop had poor quality of cigars: no humidor, so dry and tasteless. Overall though, for cost, resort was acceptable. Admittedly Sandals does charge more. We appreciate that Hotels.com and Princess resorts worked with changing our check in dates, secondary to having to postpone our trip after having misplaced my passport. Sincerely Appreciated

IF you like to walk on the beach this is not the resort for you. The beach was very dirty. If you walk 100 yards on either side of this resort the water is full of trash and the water stinks. There are no surrounding resorts therefore the locals are right outside the resort beach on either side and they bug you. The resort itself was very nice and the Royal side is very quiet and the pools are very nice.

The hotel, pools, and beach were beautiful, however on more than one occasion our maid forget to leave towels or fresh bedding. It was difficult to speak with the staff due to the "spanish" language barrier. Our biggest complaint is the food and the fact it was always cold or luke warm. It is NOT safe to travel outside the resort property due to the high level of poverty in that country.

The GranBahia Principe Ambar was amazing. There are four resorts on the property, but the Ambar is the only one that is adult only, and if you stay at this resort you still have access to all the other resorts, but none of the other resort guest are able to come into the Ambar. The Ambar has some of the best restaurants and is right on the beach. The entire resort is incredible. After several tours and seeing many of the other Punta Cana Resorts, we are very glad we stayed at the Gran Bahia. It is incredibly beautiful and has lots of amenities like a casino, spa, karaoke bar, dance club, and several theater shows every night. There is also lots of shopping and tons of restaurants. Our only complaint was that we weren't there long enough. I would definitely go back and stay at this resort again.

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Suites 7/4-7/8/09. We choose Royal to advoid difficulty with dinner reservations & a quieter setting. We found the grounds, restaurants, amenities, & rooms excellent. All the employees worked hard to make our stay great. Service & food weren't always perfect, i.e. no washcloths/bar soap, food services a bit slow at times, lots of food choices (average to good, not great). These things are minor to me while enjoying such an extensively beautiful, well run resort. My only complaint was the smell of boat fumes at Royal beach area. I couldn't smell them from Royal pool, or other resort beach areas, so we could always move, however, very dissapointing. There were always boats (noisey too); Royal area is next to an independent water sports center. So if you want the Royal restaurant reservations privileges, & quieter setting (within resort itself), & don't mind walking & hanging at another area of beach at the other resorts (or maybe the fumes don't bother you; there were plenty of people inhaling them), then I think you will love this resort. If your not the type to get upset over little things (special pillows, some lapses in follow through), this truly is a beautiful property with lots of choices. The beach is nice; not my favorite on the Bavaro beach area, but nice enough. Don't know if I would return, but all inclusive price here was very affordable, & I feel I got what I paid for. Enjoy, and hope this review is helpful.

Majestic Elegance was recommended to us by a family friend. We are so glad that we picked this resort. It was the best decision we made. We have visited Punta Cana three times in the last 4 years. This resort was by far the best. I strongly suggest paying a little extra for the Elegance Club, which is more exclusive and is for adults only. The non-Elegance part of the resort was rather young, and I would not recommend ot for people over the age of 35. The service was unparalleled. From the moment you arrive, the staff treat you like royalty. Very friendly and accomodating. The Elegance Club suite was magnificent and included a jacuzzi. The room was huge and beautifully built with the bath having a rainhead showerhead and jets. All of the restuarants were fantastic and I especially recommend 9 Puertas (Doors) the Japanese Hibachi restaurant. The chefs are friendly, fun and talented. The Club and the Casino were a decent size and were fun. The resort entertainment staff were excellent at keeping us entertained and their shows were fun. In short, the premises were exceptional, the food excellent and diverse and the alcohol was top-shelf and plentiful. I STRONGLY recommend this resort.

This resort was nice, the food was delicious (even at the main buffet), but the rooms, service and the hotel itself needs some updating. This resort is huge, so be ready for a lot of walking (to get from a main lobby to the beach it's about 10 min walk). The rooms are very private but they need some updating. The beds are very old and uncomfortable. The pillows are hard as bricks. The maids are not very well trained. We were at the resort for 7 night, they changed our towels only 3x, the other 4 night they didn't leave fresh towels at all. They did not restock the fridge and did a half asked job on everything else. If you want to take advantage of the sit down dinners make sure you are at the lobby at 8 am to sign up for one. The restaurants fill up very quickly. The same thing with the chairs at the beach, be on the beach at 8 am to reserve your spot with a towel or you will be laying on the sand for the rest of the day! This resort is nice but needs some serious improvements. The food though makes up for all the negatives. The Seafood Restaurant is a must. Delicious!!!! Overall, it's a fun resort!!!!

I went with 3 other girls, all in our late 20's-we all loved this resort! I have been to many places in the Caribbean, and this was by far the best resort/overall trip. Pool: big, clean, swimup bar! Beach: security guard 24/7. Great for during the day when all you want to do is layout and not be hackled by locals selling things. Also, beds on the beach were awesome. Food: breakfast buffet was typical of all-inclusive, but totally fine. This resort had multiple restaurants and also shares the restaurants of their sister resort next door. Dominican, Mexican, Fondue, Italian, Tex-Mex. All were amazing. Room: Every room has a balcony overlooking either the resort, pool, or beach. Clean except for the tiny ants that I think come out of the sink. I hate bugs, but these were really not a big deal. They dont get into any of your stuff. Drinks: typical rum, fruity liquor drinks included in the all-inclusive plan. But beer too! Disco: none on this resort, but free shuttle runs every 20 minutes to the sister resort next door. You can actually walk it in 3 minutes. Dont take the excursion to Imagine nightclub unless you are a fan of electronic music, salsa, and mold smells (built into a cave). We had a better time at the resort disco. Overall the resort is very relaxing, nothing crazy going on. I believe we were the only 4 girls there together without our significant others. Lots of couples (old and young). We will definitely be back!

Super nice place...the food was amazing; wide variety of different including tropical fruits; pastries and chefs cooking eggs cook to order. The evening consisted of several restaurant options including a steakhouse, French, Italian, Spanish and Mexican restaurants. To make reservations for the evening restaurants was very easy; there are several concierge stops all around the resort. The evening show was also very entertaining and very funny as well. The resort has a night club and a Casino. I recommend not to play at the casino as you will most likely loose your money. There is some construction going on on the resort, but ask for a room away from the construction area. Its all inclusive resort, have as many pina coladas and coco locos as you can handle. The staff always appreciate a small tip!!!! I recommend this resort and cant wait to go back in about 2 years.

My wife and I had never been to Punta Cana. We wanted an all-inclusive resort with a casino. Although it was probably one of the more expensive resorts, we chose Hard Rock for its name brand and the size of the resort. As we expected, our room was very nice--and this was just the standard room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had all the needed immenities including a stocked fridge with alcohol. The bathroom is enourmous with two shower heads in the shower area The employees work hard to please you. Most are bi-lingual but those who are not still seem to understand what you are saying for the most part. We were a little underwhelmed with the dining options. Not for the variety, just overall taste. I guess our taste buds are not accustomed to Dominican cooking. Still, you could get pizza, burgers, etc all day long if you desire. Pools are very nice. Beach was great. No problem getting chairs. Casino has all the Vegas games, just not as many of them, but we never had a problem finding a seat at a table even during peak hours. There is a really nice sportsbook area too. Some bartenders are better than others when it comes to mixed drinks. It rained a couple of the days we were there so we were very glad for the casino, shops and other indoor entertainment that Hard Rock offers. There's also a golf course on site which we did not use. My wife used some of our resort credits towards a free spa, the rest we used in the casino.

We were very impressed with this resort.. Everything was beautiful-from the grounds , to the rooms and including the restaurants. The food was delicious . We had dinner at 3 of the restaurants in this hotel and 1 in The Iberostar Bavaro and everthing was wonderful. We ate at The Gourmet at the other resort because it was adults only and we wanted to try something different. It was great. The pool was clean and you could use as many towels as you wanted without any exchange. The Caribbean Sea was beautiful and much more refreshing then the pool which was very warm due to the temp. Only problem, and I have seen this at another Punta Cana resort, was the sea weed. And one other thing about this resort was that on the day we arrived they told us that dinner reservations at the Surf and Turf Restaurant would not be available until the following Sunday when we would be back home. Funny that they were fully booked over a week in advance. We had heard about this sort of situation at some of the Punta Cana resorts. In the end, after some coaxing( if you know what I mean) --SURPRISE--we were able to get reservations, not once but twice... Just have to know how to play the game. One of the best resorts we have ever been to!!!! Great food and a great trip. They just need to fix this dinner reservation problem.. All in all we would go back again and again.

Had an amazing time at this resort ! Staff always had a smile, from the front desk staff to the gardeners ! Condition of the hotel was 5 Star ! Good variety of food all day if you knew where to look. The resort is HUGE, but the tram service was frequent. Takes a couple of days to get the "lay of the land" . We upgraded to the Premier section for only a slight extra charge. It is farthest from the beach which at first we thought was a bad thing, but found out later that this section was the least crowded .Try and book the 40-47 group of buildings if you can. Quieter than 51 where we stayed, although windows and sound insulation was great. The Premier section was within walking distance of the "main" lobby and all the entertainment venues. Michael Jackson show is not to be missed. GET THERE EARLY ! .A la Carte Retaurants a nice diversion from the usual buffets. Japanese ( Maiko )was fun-all depends on who they sit you with.Don't mix up the two Japanese restaurants. Maiko was the best. Also ate at the Pescador - amazing seafood appetizers were almost a meal in itself. Book as soon as you arrive for best times.Premier section has a great bar called the Daiquiri - best bartender in the resort -Flavio ! After hours entertainment scarce, we had fun at the Kareoke bar- Only negative we heard ? Restaurants were only half full but demanded reservations. Get used to reserving chairs by 8am at the pool, earlier at the beach - which is just amazing ! Try Olas Snack Bar at beach.

The resort is all-adults, all-inclusive. We went for our honeymoon. The resort itself is gorgeous with a large wrap around pool and another large pool with a swim-up bar. The rooms are nice and spacious. Jacuzzis on the balcony. Every single staff member was extremely friendly and polite. The beach was great and we had full access to the resort next to it (NOW Larimar). The only negatives were the food decent, but not great. The breakfast buffet was pretty good and all beef and chicken dishes were great. But the seafood was pretty bad, which was surprising. Also, salespeople haggled us on the beach, but it really wasn't that bad. I just said, "No gracias" with a smile and they left us alone. They served cheap liquor unless you asked for the top shelf stuff, which was never a problem. It is a great couples/honeymoon/anniversary resort and would recommended it.

My wife and I recently returned from a five - that turned into six - night honeymoon in Punta Cana. My wife selected The Reserve based on pictures on Expedia, and we were both pleased. The Reserve is part of a larger hotel, and as the name implies, it is the "high end" part of the hotel. There is a "reserved" pool, "reserved" beach, and many of the restaurants are not frequented by guests from the rest of the hotel. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are great. We had a 3rd floor room with a tub on the balcony. The first floor rooms have a patio that leads right into the pool, very nice. The pool itself is immense, as are the pools at the other part of the hotel. The Reserve has a special daycare center and pool just for kids that looked great if you're traveling with the whole family. The beach was very nice, lots of seaweed, but we knew to expect that this time of year. The three negatives of our trip were: 1-food. The restaurants are ok, but definitely not 5-star like the rest of the resort. 2-The personal concierge is great, however, part of his job is to get you to attend the "vacation club" presentation. Its a very expensive club, and a rip-off/waste of time in our opinion. 3-we had to stay an extra night because of a cancelled flight, which resulted in a lot of time spent sitting around the airport. The "plus" to this was the airline put us up in another resort overnight that was horrible, making The Reserve that much better.

We arrived at this resort just a couple days after it opened, and I must say it was a great vacation all around! Here's a quick breakdown... Rooms: Seeing as this is a brand new hotel the room was totally clean and very beautiful. Plenty of room, nice comfortable bed, and nice view from our terrace. Food: There was a large variety of food and even though I'm a picky eater, always found something good to eat. Breakfast buffets and lunch were excellent with lots to choose from. You must make early reservations to eat at the fancy a la carte restaurants, but it was well worth it. Service: The staff was very helpful and friendly. At any of the restaurants they were always very attentive and were quick to get you anything you asked for. Only complaint I have is that at the hotel they were slow to respond to calls when something needed to be addressed. For example we did not have a remote control for our TV at first. Small problems which I assume were caused by the fact that they had just opened. Overall though, service was great. Other: The pools were very nice, and even had a swim up bar. Plenty of pool chairs and friendly staff walked around to get drink orders. Beach is beautiful and was not at all crowded. In the evenings they had some small shows and nice entertaining music.

Not a 5 star resort, perhaps 3 star. Upon arrival, we were directed to the small reception ( with many mosquitoes) where the staff made checking in unnecessarily long, even though the resort was practically empty. The resort attempts to be high-end, but has missed the mark. The decor is mediocre, though the size of my suite was decent. Odd design details abound , like nowhere to put your shampoo and soap in the shower. In spite of it being new there was a moldy smell in the bathroom, in spite of leaving the a/c on all day. The staff need to be trained. After telling them repeatedly, not to disturb in the mornings, I was woken up every morning by housekeeping. Odd that they don't have 'Do Not Disturb' signs for their rooms. The sofa in the suite was below IKEA quality and uncomfortable, as was the king-size bed. The restaurants are average and casual.
