We were disappointed with this hotel. We stayed in a one bedroom Villa. Check in was the only service that was efficient. The view from the room was nice, most of the furniture in good condition. The kitchen was adequate and living room furniture comfortable. However, there were 2 TV's in the unit but no DVD player. It took 3 calls to housekeeping to get the linens for the pull out bed and 50 minutes to get a burger and salad for lunch at the pub. The mattress and box spring were so old that anytime either of us moved at night we both rolled over into the middle and woke up. There was no back up toilet paper in the bathroom and we ran out! We found a prior guest's sock on the floor by the washer/dryer. For a Resort of this caliber, we expected better. I doubt we will return.

We have been going to The Breakers since the early '80's and were anxious to see the end result of the rehab as a time-share. It is truly a wonderful property now and in talking to some owners', seems to be a well-run resort. We will continue to watch for opportunities to rent unfilled rooms in the future. Beds were comfy, kitchenette well- stocked, pleasing decor and a tub with jets. Beach would have been inviting had we not booked during a rainy week. Only complaint would be that the sound-proofing could be better in the ceiling...thumping from above, but luckily during the day. We will most likely return!

If you're looking for a luxury resort experience, the Outer Reach is not for you. It's an older facility, and it shows its age. The rooms are comfortable but not fancy. The exteriors of the units might be characterized as "run down" - not in a way that will compromise your stay, just don't expect anyone to be impressed with the appearance of the place. Also, if you're the kind of person who makes lots of demands - wants extra pillows, wants your air-conditioning adjusted, etc, etc, don't stay at the Outer Reach. The staffing is kind of reminiscent of John Cleese's old BritCom "Fawlty Towers." But you can't beat the location. It's a beautiful spot - walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean - and Provincetown and its many activities are just a short drive up the road. In addition, the Outer Reach is pet-friendly and very reasonably priced (by Cape Cod summer season standards). My wife and I have stayed there several times and have never had trouble getting a mid-week reservation. It's probably even more of a bargain in the off-season. We like to stay at the Outer Reach and drive up to P-town to dine and shop. I really like the place and will definitely return. It''s great for a romantic couple's getaway, as long as you're not looking for anything fancy or five-star amenities. What you get is a clean comfortable room in one of the most beautiful spots on the East Coast. If that works for you, then you'll like the Outer Reach.
