We just returned from 5 nights at the Southern Palms and we very much enjoyed our visit. We had a second-floor beachfront room in the new section (room 209) and we were most satisfied with the accommodations. Our room was nice and the beach/ocean view was spectacular. We did not purchase the meal plan because we prefer to sample the local restaurants (which were all very good but a little on the expensive side- relative to the other islands we have visited). While the resort's breakfast buffet was sumptuous, it was very expensive ($26.50 US, I believe) so we elected to eat breakfast at Happy Days Cafe across the street (pancakes, bacon and coffee for a very reasonable $7.50) or order ala carte at the resort restaurant (where the above ran $10.00). We checked our e-mail and used the internet in the resort's computer room (no charge and seldom in use when we went there). The resort's pool, beach, landscaping and buildings are beautiful and in excellent condition! There was very nice live music 3 of the 5 nights which was very nice and the bands were quite good. The resort's location is excellent and was one of the reasons I chose to stay here; it is very close to some nice shops, restaurants, bars, etc., as well as a bus stop (cheap and fun way to get to Bridgetown). Our only complaint about the island, and to a lessor extent the resort ,is that some of the tourist industry people were not overly friendly, as they are in the 6 other Caribbean islands we've visited.

This was our second stay at the Amaryllis and it was even better than the first . Our first time we were in a garden view room and were thrilled by the beautiful tropical garden that we woke up to every morning . What an enviro shock to go from an arctic Ottawa to the lush , proudly cared-for gardens at the Amaryllis in just a few hours . This time we opted for a similar garden view room and were upgraded (at no extra charge) to a room opening out onto the open air restaurant and the beach . We witnessed several beach weddings from our patio and enjoyed the easy access to the beach from our room and still revelled at the gardens . The Amaryllis has a terrific beach with a swimming area that's well protected by a breakwater making it very safe for all to float around in the Carribean . The boardwalk that has been recently built (since we were there two years ago ) along the south coast makes it possible to walk or jog several kilometres from the Amaryllis over a series of beaches and boardwalks . The Amaryllis is well located : it's at easy walking distance from the Brown Sugar restaurant with its tasty Bajan buffet lunch most days of the week , its a short bus or taxi ride into Bridgetown , and a shorter ride to Bert's Bar to watch hockey (or many other sports) on multiple screens ! We especially enjoyed the rum punches at the Amaryllis beach bar and a delicious flying fish(!)caesar salad the serve . We'll certainly be back to the Amaryllis Beach Resort .

This is a basic small resort type hotel at the end of two beaches that have two all inclusives next to them. The rooms are large and fully equipped with the basic necessities. The restaurant is reasonable for lunch There are fairly large waves on this beach and it would not be good for a leisurely swim or for hours of beach walking you'd have to go to the more expensive west coast.

Silver Point Hotel is a wonderful place to stay for people looking to getaway from the all-inclusive resorts. The staff was great like Ryan, Shane, Kaisha and even the security guards. The restaurant menu is limited but the food was some of the best I had on the island. Great job Chef!

Vacationed the w/o 8/22/5 and was more than satisfied with the resort. No problems with the "Red Rooster" noise. Bus stop out in front made it easy to get around. Don't try to walk too dangerous and hot. Rent a car and stock up on grocerys and save some money - eating out very expensive. Clean beach but has a big slop to it. The Bajans are very nice people.

I was not very impressed with the hotel. The food was not very good and the drinks were ok.It was very annoying having to fight the birds for my breakfast every morning. The staff was pleasant. The rooms were ok.The best part of the resort was the beach. The beach was gorgeous!
