We went by the hotel when we got into Collingwood just before noon because we knew it was going to rain. I wanted to see if they could call me when my room/ a room became available. Sure enough it began to rain heavily during the afternoon and we had to leave Blue Mountain. I called and explained that I needed a room asap as there was nothing for us to do on New Years Day in Collingwood due to the rain. I was told 4 pm was checkin. I wasn't offered use of the resort... I was just retold that 4pm was checkin. Check out was 11 a.m. and at 2:30 p.m. there still wasn't a room for us. From home my sister was able to get on a live chat with hotel management and explain my situation and we were quickly directed to go to the resort... our room was ready! Once there checkin was quick and our room was clean. The pool was a bit cool for my kids but they enjoyed the hot tub. There is a movie theatre 2 minutes away and we were able to watch a movie. There are several restaurants also within 5 minutes or less from the resort. Most of the staff we ha contact with after we checked in was very helpful and friendly. Hopefully next time we will be off to a better start.
