Early fall is the best time to get down to Destin, Florida. The weather is great,the crowds are small, and the rates are very resonable. The Hotel is very nice with all the aminities a traveler could ask for. The resteraunts are a bit pricey, but there are fantastic eating places within ten minutes of the resort. I did like the fact the resort had both an indoor pool and 2 very nice outside pools. The staff was friendly and helpful and maid service came daily. The resort sits on some of the nicest beaches in the country. I did not play any golf, but the course looked emaculant.

Beautiful resort overall, and our Beachwalk lodging was terrific. However, after vacationing at many other beach resorts on Florida's East Coast, Bahamas, etc., we've never had to rent beach chairs or purchase beach towels from the resort (and then get charged a resort fee on top of it all). However, the beach chair phenomenon is common along the entire Emerald Coast/Fort Walton Beach area resorts, so be warned!!! You'll either need to bring your own beach towels and chairs from home, buy them at a cheap store on the island and then toss them, or pay ridiculous fees to the resorts to rent the items. The only way this will change is if area travelers lobby the Emerald Coast tourist bureau and also provide feedback to resort managers. It makes sense to rent chairs to the general public, but for anyone staying at an area resort, chairs and towels should automatically be included. While I loved the whole area, this crazy phenomenon makes me wonder if it makes sense to bring my whole family next year. We may need to go somewhere else.

I cannot begin to express how extremely satisfied and impressed I was with the property and location! I can't believe this was only rated 3 stars! I just happen to stumble upon a pretty good deal on Expedia for this property, so I said why not? I rented one of the resort's timeshare units, which was very beautiful, clean, and had every amenity and luxury that was necessary. There was a beautiful wraparound balcony, to which every room had access, so I was able to walk out and enjoy the fresh air. The resort was directly on the beach (had to cross a small street, but that was it) and had its own private access to the beach. The property was also less than 2 minutes from the outlet center, grocery stores and restaurants. My cousin and I were able to walk to the grocery store, which was very enjoyable. It ended up being rainy and cloudy for the duration of the trip, but we so enjoyed our temporary "living space" so much that we hardly noticed. The only negative thing I could say is that there seemed to be construction going on at another resort next door, which was slightly annoying. On our last night, we had dinner in the resort restaurant, which had very good seafood and choices, and was not too pricey. My cousin and I enjoyed it so much that we are planning an extended family trip back to Destin--and the Surfside Resort!

This was our first visit to the Destin area and our condo was wonderful. For the price it was a superb deal. The location was ideal to the beach and the strip for restaurants and shopping. We were on the 11th floor which made for a fabulous view. We will definitely come back to this location and stay again. Parking was ample and the walk to the beach was short. Our kids also loved the DVD machine for movies at night. The resort staff was helpful and friendly. We had one issue with a clogged toilet and maintenance was up to repair within 20 minutes. Having 2 pools was a plus because the pool on the beach was a little crowded, so it was nice to have the adults be able to use the back pool. Thank you Resort Quest

The resort was everything we had hoped for. I called a week before arriving to confirm room details. My only complaint was not with the resort, but the hotels.com experience. When there was a question about the room, hotels.com did not have record of an upgrade rate on the day I booked the room. The cleaning fee was overstated on the website also. The resort was more than happy to accommodate the errors on the website and we were offered a room with a better view. For a resort, I was happy that we were not pressured to buy a room there. The hot tub, pools and other amenities were very clean and well taken care of. There is plenty of necessity shopping close by and the beach was great. We will stay at this resort again if given the opportunity.

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay with Resort Quest condo-Carribean East. The Condo was very cozy. It was located across the road from the beach. (literally could hold your breath from the front door to beach sand.) We had a rainy afternoon one day, but took advantage with our two free DVD rentals from Resort Quest and cuddled up on the couch. Highly recommend the restaraunt 3 blocks away (maybe 5 minute walk.) called 790. Beach was very clean. Condo was very clean. It was a major bonus to have a condo vs. a beach side hotel. We took advantage and made ourselves at home! Very relaxing stay--could have easily slept 6 people. Plus our condo was one of two who had drect balcony access to the private pool and spa! If you want privacy-this is the place for you.

The location was great and it was just like being right on the beach. However from start to finish, the customer service was minimal at best. Everything from remote controls that didn't work and inadequate check in/out information. It was hard using this resort as a first timer, but knowing more information now, I would not have a problem returning.

I was very please that I got the room that I requested with a view overlooking the Gulf. The room was very large and comfortable making it a very romantic stay for me and my girlfriend. Beach access was very convenient and the resort provided many discounts and great services that made the stay more enjoyable like 2 chairs and an umbrella, compliments of the resort. I would recommend this resort to others and I will definitely be back again.

It was very hard to find!!! THe address lead us to McDonalds on our GPS. So, the first resortquest we saw told us to go to one down the road, then we later found out the first one is SO much closer to our cottage then the other. Our room wasn't ready until 5PM, and out mattresses were hard. A brief summary of the rest of the week,stating a few key words:leaky refridgerator, oven charred our cookies[after we followed the directions(325 degrees 13 min.; burned after 10 min),we were expected to take ALL our trash to the dumpster,harassed by drunk man at pool,bathroom was dirty, wash THEIR towels,dirty cooking pan(probably uncleanable since the oven charred their food as well), asked to put the dishes in a dishwasher but there wasnt a dishwasher to put them in.HM. needless to say, we won't be back. Although, the price was just right.
