This resort does not have a beach access... BIG FAIL... and you CAN'T cancel your resercation, you lose your money if you cancel. We were in Phu Quoc to enjoy the beach, relax in the sun, swim and not move a finger. This hotel is 45mts drive by taxi from Sao beach, the most popular beach in Phu Quoc. We had to hire a taxi and ask him to wait 8hrs at the beach ($45 a day), the hotel does not have any courtesy shuttle to this beach. The night life around the road where most major hotels are located is pretty much dead, you can go to the night market for dinner or some of the restaurants across the street and that is pretty much it. The restaurant at this resort is not interesting (it looks very fancy) and it is expensive. They have beach chairs by the ocean, but there is absolutely no breeze, so you will need mosquito repellent at night. This resort is very well maintained, and the rooms are luxurious, breakfast was decent, service was good, but big fail for me were 1. No beach access 2. the rooms are not taller than the treeline, so you might not see the ocean even if you get a ocean view room. 3, No courtesy shuttle to Sao beach. 4. No night life in the resort or outside the resort. at least they could pay someone to sing or play a guitar at dinner time.

My fiancee and I stayed at the Chez Carole resort Christmas week of 2011. The hotel is new, located on the northern end of Phu Quoc island. It is not close to town, but it is easy to get a taxi to take you there. The hotel is and grounds are maintained perfectly. The food in the restaurant is very good...and the hotel staff is great. By the end of the week, we felt like the staff members were family. The hotel is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. As of Dec 2011, there were only ten rooms /suites... more are planned but we felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves. I highly recommend the hotel for staying on Phu Quoc.
