Arriving at The Aruban Resort & Casino was a real surprise. After reading the reviews, I was expecting a tired, rundown hotel hard on its luck. The buildings, staff, pools, room cleanliness, affordability and locale more than made up for the outdated kitchen. Eagle Beach is very walkable and after enjoying long walks each day, we determined that "our beach" was the prettiest part of Eagle Beach by far. We rented a 1-bedroom, 1-bath the early part of June 2008. I would not hesitate to stay there again, and am looking forward to it.

The Manchebo Beach Resort is a gem. It's in the low rise area so if you're looking for a party vacation, this is not the right hotel for you but if you're looking for the most beautiful beach in Aruba and a relaxing, quiet hotel, you can't do better than Manchebo. It's within an easy bus ride to shoping and the high rises and very close to a casino. While the rooms could use some sprucing up, overal it's a good hotel at a good price with very nice and helpful employees.

Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites was the best choice we made for our honeymoon in Aruba! Although maybe it didn't have the best restaurant or room service like the big hotels, I think we had the best strip of beach (Eagle Beach) along Aruba, much better than the beaches in the high rise (The big name hotels) area. Beach was always only half full, so never any problems finding the perfect spot to sunbathe all day long.. and enjoy our cocktails that we didn't even have to move off our chairs for (They have a red flag you put up in the sand and the staff come running down to take your order). It was paradise! Staff at hotel are lovely, so welcoming and happy all the time, always willing to help. The only down side was we had to take taxis everywhere but it wasn't very expensive and there's not loads to do in aruba except to relax and enjoy the sunshine anyway. It was only when we had to go and eat dinner we had to venture out -Aruba has some lovely places to eat not far from hotel by taxi! So maybe not the ideal holiday if your looking for a party island but it was absoloutely perfect for our honeymoon.. =)

My husband and I have been visiting Aruba for over 25 years and own a timeshare, but not at the Divi. We found this resort to be very comfortable; the staff was helpful and the ongoing construction did not interfere with our enjoyment of the beach and other services offered by the hotel. Although we booked a studio, we were given a one-bedroom suite, complete with jacuzzi and full kitchen, in the newly opened section. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and lunch, sometimes, and it was fairly priced.

We went there on our honeymoon and they catered to us. We received champagne, and a beautiful sunset dinner on the beach. It was really easy to get around and find things to do. There was a casino about two minutes away and you get to visit the other resort next door. There is always a breeze, so it's never too hot. The water was perfect! Everyone at the hotel was friendly and the food was great, as well as the drinks, there were different ones each day! Lots of activities and options for things to do. They even showed a movie on the beach! I highly recommend this hotel!

Once you get past the rude, slow and incompotent front desk staff the rest of your vacation will be awesome! THe pools are just perfect. The rooms are huge with a full size fridge, stove, microwave and stocked with a dish set and kitchen appliances. The rooms are very clean and so is everything on the property. We only ate at the resort one night at Mulligans and the food was fabulous and not all that expensive either. There is a shuttle to take you anywhere you want to go on the property or any of the adjacent Divi properties. We never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes for a shuttle. They will take you to the beach, pools, restaurants, casino, rooms or anywhere. The Alhambra Casino is part of the property and is a good time. They have everything from penny slots to high dollar table games, but unfortunately no poker. If you want poker then you have to go to the Excelsior Casino at the Holiday Inn. The location could not be better. You are only 5 mintes away from downtown Oranjestad, the main port, Renaissance Mall and Palm Beach. All the grocery stores are right there within a mine or two. The Divi Golf Village was great for our family of four (me, wife and kids 4 and 5 years old). It was also obviously geared toward the 55+ crowd as it almost felt like a retirement community........golfers.

This is definitely not a 4* resort, so if you come in with that understanding, you won't be disappointed. I agree this is between a 3* and 3.5* resort. The facility is little dated but functional. The rooms are clean but very small. Width of room is only 11.5 ft. We had 2 queen beds so it felt very cramp for 4 people. If you have one King bed, I think it'll feel a bit more roomy. Everything was clean and in working order. The bathroom is small and has no A/C. The bathroom has a little old louver type window to vent out steam but at the same time it lets in warm humid air from outside. I did not feel too comfortable in the bathroom because of the lack of A/C. The food was acceptable. There are 4 A la Carte restaurants that you can use where you're waited on. The food is hit and miss. People we met at the resort all had different opinions about the restaurants, so it's highly dependent on individual's tastes. But if are not satisfied with the food at the restaurants, you can always hit the buffet afterward. The bars are great places to get sodas, mixed drinks, beer. Our favorite was the Pizza per Tutti: their thin crust pepperoni was delicious. The service is ok. Just like any place you go, you'll run into servers who are more helpful than others. We did not have any trouble with the servers. Occasionally they seem a little slow during busy hours. The beach is probably the selling point of this resort. All rooms are ocean-front and steps from the sand. I would say give 5* for location. The resort has concierge services like tour desk, car rental,... You can get floats, snorkel gear, kayak, bikes all for free. I enjoyed the bands that played from 7:00pm to 8:00pm nightly. The played mostly 60's, 70's, 80's songs which make it very easy to listen to. There were also variety of entertainment at 9:00pm nightly. With kids under 18 staying free, I can't justify going elsewhere and pay almost twice the cost of staying at the Tamarijn.

This resort was awesome. Everyone was extremely helpful and polite. The resort itself was beautiful and the rooms were gorgeous. The shuttle gives you access to all 3 connecting divi resorts. They even take you to the casino. We had an early flight out the next morning so we were able to complete our checkout the night before. That was also very helpful since we had to be at the airport by 5:30am. We did most of our cooking at the resort so I can't comment too much about the restaurants but from what I heard, they were good. The bus stopped right out in front of the hotel. We never rented a car and didn't need one. $2.30 round trip to wherever you were going. Bus goes from downtown all the way to the end of the main road which is the Marriott. The only time we took a taxi was from the airport to resort and then from the resort to the airport. Make sure to get confirmation of the price before you get into the cab. Front desk is usually pretty good knowing rates. Beaches were very clean and accessible. Quiet area - which is what we wanted.
