The room was good - the bed and pillows in particular. The hallway needed new carpet. No phone book and a non-present concierge - no phone book so you would be unable to easily locate your other dining options. The in-house restuarant was very pricey and we never ate at the hotel as a result. They had water bottles out for you by the ice bucket, only a very careful exam of the label to find the tiny price sticker saved us from paying $X for a bottle of water. We never got to use the in room refrigerator as we sure were not going to break the seal for who knows how much cost. We were also charged a "resort fee" above and beyond the Expedia rental rate for ammenties we didn't use. My overall impression of Las Vegas was that it was the greediest town I have ever been in and I do not foresee a return. No free airport shuttle to the h otel, no contintental breakfast, no phone book, excessive taxes and fess for everything. They can keep the glitz for the chumps. I came for a business trip conference and was not impressed. Maybe we would have been more impressed if we had a rental car but the lowest cost for three days in Vegas was an extra $XXX above the $XXX I paid for a week upon leaving (and $XX of that cost was fees and taxes).

We stayed for 5 days in mid novemeber 2011. We were in a 26th floor room with a "king" size murphy bed. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, but annoying ventilation hum could be heard through pillows when sleeping on your side. Walls are thin and neighbouring conversations can be heard clearly. Shows at Hilton are clearly B class. Muzak is steady 70's classics. Service was good but not outstanding. We chose the Hilton because the price was reasonable, there was no resort fees, and the Monorail stops right at the hotel so access to the strip is quick and easy. We ate at the paradise Cafe a couple of times for breakfast as the Hotel offers a $10 food coupon if you opt out of getting your room done for a day. Service was good, food was adequate. There are better places to eat on the strip. Few restaurant choices in the hotel when compared to other resorts/hotels. Vegas showing its age and the effects of the recession - signs not repaired, faded paint, not as clean as it used to be, panhandlers common on the bridges.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at the Desert Rose Resort while attending a convention in February. We were very happy with the layout and the comfort of the spacious room. The suites include a living, dining, and kitchen area in addition to the seperate bedroom. The rooms were very clean and looked very new. This is a great place to stay with your family or if you don't want to be in the middle of the vegas hipe. The hotel staff as well as the cleaning staff were all very curtious and helpful. You get so much more for your money at the DRR then staying at the other hotels that only have a bed/bathroom to offer. When we return to Vegas we will definately book our stay again at the Desort Rose Resort. Five stars ***** to the staff/management of the DRR.

We booked this resort due to a lack of options on a very busy weekend. When I called to confirm, I was asked what they could do to make my stay better, even before I got there. It's an older establishment, nothing fancy, but was very clean. It seemed to be an old-school, family style resort, complete with scheduled activities. Given its location, we were amazed that it hadn't been razed for a new mulit-billion dollar hotel or something. The staff was friendly, with very present security. We had a one bedroom apartment for half of the price of our friend's single hotel room elsewhere! And the location was right behind Harrah's, so was as close to the strip as you can be without being actually on the strip. We enjoyed our stay and slept well. The biggest complaint I had was that the hot water in the shower wasn't quite hot enough. I'm glad that's all I can gripe about!
