Originally we stayed 2 nights with a Panama tour group. We were so impressed we went back for an extra week after the tour had ended. This is 5 star all inclusive resort, very good main dining facility buffet style, good variety of food, excellent service, 2 very large clean clear pools, beach, five bars that I am aware of. FYI - The web site does not do a very good job of promoting the resort. In addition to main dining there are three other all inclusive restaurants (Chinese, Mexican, Sushi) and a snack bar and Disco. This is good laid back kind of place not a crowded party resort. + It's located in a portion of the Panama coast where the sun shines over 340 day per year

This was my third trip to the Royal Decameron in the past three years. This resort has serious service problems. I stayed for one week with my wife, daughter, friend, and my two grandchildren ages 4 and 5. Laundry service failed to pick up clothing during the day even after several calls to Lobby #3 and a three hour wait in the room. Someone finally came to pick up laundry at 8:00 PM only after my daughter went to the lobby and complained. Receptionist had to make several calls and argue with other resort personnel on the phone to make it happen… Food quality lacks and served portions are very small; one has to ask for “mas, mas”… Buffet restaurants and bar personnel often ignore you when you need beverages refilled, however, if your plate appears empty or you stop eating for a few seconds, the staff will quickly try to lift the dishes away and clear the table. Too many employees needlessly driving around the resort’s narrow walk ways in Chevy Micro Vans; guests have to continuously stop and move out of their way. The only entrance into my building (#44) was blocked by the linen pick up individual's Micro Van, who would literally back up his vehicle into the building every afternoon for 15 to 20 minute periods; when employee was confronted about the practice he told us to squeeze between the rear of the vehicle and the entry way and made vulgar remarks in Spanish to a coworker. It seems this resort goes out of their way to hire brain dead staff members. I will not return.
