I had stayed at this hotel a long time ago, so I looked up some reviews on it. After seeing some say negative things, I thought it over, and decided to book there anyways. Once there, the hotel was a LOT BETTER than it had been in the past, The entire pool are had been redone. We like the fact that you can get on a trolley only one hundred feet or so from the hotel. I liked the pillows so much, I asked if I could buy some. The manager was very nice, and sold us a few pillows! It is not a 5 star resort, but definetely worth its price...

The Hyatt Key West Resort & Marina is the best, most convenient place to stay while visiting Key West. It is within close walking distance from shops, pubs, restaurants, Mallory Square, and the Conch Train Tour Station. There is a marina, where you can walk the pier to a number of great restaurants and pubs, or simply just view the boats and ships. The views of the ocean from hotel room balcony's are breathtaking. I plan to return next year.

I had low expectations but this was the only resort I could find that didn't charge you daily resort fees and we were on a budget. It actually exceeded my expectations. They upgraded us to a room with a king bed and a balcony which really made all the difference. The room and pool were clean, the beach area was nice, and all in all a great 3 to 3 1/2 star resort. Don't eat or drink here though. It was incredibly expensive. Luckily there was a refrigerator in the room and we were able to stock up on drinks and snacks at the local grocery store. Plus there are 4 excellent restaurants within walking distance north of the resort.

After reading some reviews I did not have high expectations for this hotel but I was pleasantly suprised with the attentive, friendly, accomodating and professional customer service we received upon check in and the cleanliness of the hotel and our room! The room is small but up to date and very clean! The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to be in the heart of everything! Location, location, location!!! People from all over the island come to this hotel for the sunset every night. It is gorgeous! The pool is not what I had hoped for. There were a lot of kids there and the bar is very quiet. But the lobby is nice. The restaurant offered delicious and very reasonable shell seafood! I was extremely happy with the customer service from the maid staff to the front desk to all of the bartenders... you are treated as if you are in a 5 star resort!

This is not way I think of when I think resort. There is no beach to speak of really and you can't get into the water. I was also woken up at 7 am by a sand dragging machine, loud and very unpleasant. The only ammenities are the pool and hot tub. I was also expecting more out of the breakfast (bagels, juice, and cereal) since it is part of the "resort fee" that is imposed at check in.

We spent Labor Day weekend at the Boca Cheeca Resort with our 11-month-old daughter. Service was friendly throughout our stay and the grounds were beautiful, especially at night...I love tiki torches! We stayed in one of the bungalows by "spa island" and had waterfalls and lush trees surrounding our screened-in porch. The rooms were smaller and less expensive than the rooms at the main lodge but perfect for our needs. We rolled the pack-and-play (provided by the hotel as they had run our of cribs over the busy Labor Day weekend) into the bathroom for nap and bedtime. My only complaints are minor: the elevator in our building was not air conditioned and the towels were not as soft as I would have liked, but I'm grasping at straws here. Overall, our stay was wonderful and we have plans to return soon and take advantage of the on-site babysitting services we heard about during our stay.

We were very happy with our vacation at Hawk's Cay Resort. The room was clean and had the nicest bathroom of any hotel we've ever stayed. We read the other reviews and planned ahead by packing for breakfast and snacks in the room. The mini fridge was completely empty, so we were able to store milk, fruit, drinks, etc. We brought our own coffee pot too. The only complaints we had were the pillows are feather and completely mushy, so if you're used to a firm/supportive pillow bring your own, and the a/c and mini fridge were really loud at night, but that was solved by turning the a/c fan on high, which drowned out the clunking with white noise. There are a lot of birds that hang out at the pool, as well as iguanas. It was not a big deal to me, but some other guests seem to dislike that. We asked to have a new duvet since ours smelled like the former guests' strong perfume, and they brought one right away. We also had a broken alarm clock, and they brought a new one that day. The room had an electronic safe, which was a nice addition. The resort is about 8 minutes from Marathon, which had a K-Mart, Publix, Winn Dixie, and several restaurants including fast food options like Subway, Taco Bell, McDonalds, etc. for lunch if you're looking to save money. We splurged on dinner at the local seafood restaurants and watched the sunset each night. The drive to Key West only took about an hour and 20 minutes. My husband was disappointed that the resort does not allow you to fish on their property, but there are a few spots right down the road off the US 1 bridge or at one of the state parks. We recommend Curry Hammock park for inexpensive kayak rentals ($21 for 2 hours). We checked out three other "resorts" while we were down there for future reference, and Hawk's Cay was by far the nicest, cleanest place around. It was no comparison. Even though our room (Island View King) had a horrible view of the roof over the circle drive, it was still a great choice to stay in that area of the Keys, and we would definitely choose this hotel again. I also loved that this is a non-smoking resort, so the rooms smelled clean and fresh. Of course, there were people that broke the rules and smoked by the pool, but not too many of them. It is a luxury hotel with a very nice staff. One thing to keep in mind, they do charge a $500 "hold" on your debit card for incidentals. Fortunately, when we checked out, we had not eaten at the resort and had a zero balance. Booking with hotels.com covered the $20 daily resort fee, which meant no need to tip the bell hop or valet parking people. We feel we got an excellent deal for the price we paid through this website and are very happy with our choice. If we return to this Key, we would certainly choose Hawk's Cay again.

Nothing bad to say about this place. Loved the beach and the bars in the resort, especially liked the on site Paddleboard rentals and the fact that it is a dog friendly resort. Many "dog friendly" places scare me but this place is extremely clean and well maintained. My dog and I will be back.
