Great resort! We upgraded to an oceanview room and it was definitely worth it! Comfy bed, view of the ocean, all good! We bought a beach chair for $9 from Walmart like somebody advised us to do which was great! Renting the lounge chairs on the beach was a lot of money, $23/hour, ridiculous. We ate once at the bar & grill, it was good. We loved the little pizza place, Albertos near by, def. recommend that little gem. Fresh thin pizzas, mmmm... We loved this resort and will definitely go again!

It was a total chance to find a last minute resort on Christmas Day! I read all of the reviews from other people and did more digging on the web because I could NOT believe the price and location. My wife and I just wanted to getaway for a couple of days and we hit the jack-pot baby! It was absolutely wonderful. The room was ideal (Marina view with partial Beach view) and the boats very large. The staff was wonderful and accommodating to us at check in. The bed was comfortable and the restaurant was pretty good. The location on the boardwalk and the beach was breath taking for the three nights we were there. I would agree with the other reviews that the area was a little expensive on certain things but look where you are! Let me say it like this, ".....we will be back at this resort again shortly......... !!!!!" God bless,

For the price, the hotel, with it's great location was worth the price. Parking is free, internet free, and the beach is free. Nice swimming pools, and great food. Complaints: Only real complaint was the bathroom and tub was a bit dirty, with stnading water in the tub when taking a shower. The European room had no view, but the price was right. Complements: Loctation, Location, Location. Right on the beach, close to great food and shopping, bus route to take you anywhere. Swimming pools were clean and warm. The food was great. Happy hour everynight with super nice servers and a nice (older) atmosphere. The avaerage customer age was probably 55-60. Overall: If your looking for a low cost resort, on the beach, older, quiter customer base, with food and drinking available, do not hesitate to check out the Beachcomer resort.

The hotel in itself is an old grand resort from the 1920's that has been "retooled" many times over the years. So, it has history to it. It is not reall a resort, just a convenient and adequate place to stay. The rooms (that I saw and stayed in) have what is needed; as any time-share units would. They are way outdated as far as decor. One bedrooms are very small. The valet parking people are horrible. It is a vendor operation and have little or no service skills. I think they expect you to tell them you want the car valet parked. My guy (evening shift) actually recommended that I use self-parking. There is a small convenience store in the resort mall that is, well convenient and has just about anything at normal prices. There is Bar & Grill out back on the boardwalk, but quits serving food early. Overall, there was not much to keep us around the resort, as you would expect of a resort.

Had a great stay at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale. Would highly recommend staying here if you need a few days to unwind, sit by the pool (the pool attendants were great) or walk right across the street to go to the beach, which also allowed you to have 2 beach chairs per room that they provided. Note: It is a family resort, there were lots of kids running around the pool area, but it wasn't too bothersome. Didn't use the spa, but wanted a massage very badly, and the entire resort smelled of their signature scent, which I believe was a white tea blend. I basically wanted to bottle the scent and use it at home! Only had lunch here once, which was average but most of the food seemed overpriced for what it was ($18 dollar breakfast that was cereal and juice!?). Drinks made by the bartender Eduardo were amazing, he was really nice and mixed drinks very well. Also, the starbucks within the resort was useful for breakfast/coffee. Rooms were clean, the only problem I ran into was having my contact case thrown out by one of the cleaning ladies, which I'm sure was an accident, but obtaining another one was kind of a pain. Used the gym, which was also very clean, small but had everything you really needed and faced the ocean, which was nice. Overall, I would recommend and/or stay here again!

we were traveling for the poker event at the Isle casino so we were looking to stay in the area. Theresort w as huge, golfing and lots of activites, however we didnt use it. Our one bedroom was very nice, probably just remodeled. It looked like this place was an apartment complex before and turned into resort now. The location for our trip was super convinient, right across the street from the casino. The only downside for us was that the resort property did not have any restaurants on site, so to eat we had to drive to a near by restaurants. However the room has a full size kitchen and if you are planning to cook than its not a problem.

This is truly a great beach resort. Beautiful pools surrounded by tall palm trees and plants. Huge private beach that leads to clear ocean water. You can snorkle right in front of the resort or head south to the port entrance for reefs and beautiful tropical fish. This private resort truly stands apart from all of the corporate hotel chains in the area. Very attentive staff willing to take care of every need or request. Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in a room with small kitchenette which helps get away from the high costs of the breakfast buffet and lunch served at the resorts restaurants. If you choose to eat at the restaurants at the resort you will not be disappointed. All of the food is well prepared and very good. This resort has a great location, you are close to nightlife and dining spots along A1A just north of the hotel. You are minutes away from great dinning along the intracoastal waterway throughout Ft. Lauderdale. If you are looking for a great getaway from the hustle and bustle I would highly recommend Lago Mar. Our next trip to Ft. Lauderdale will include a return stay at Lago Mar.

My husband and I decided to visit this resort for our late honeymoon June 2010. It was exactly what we wanted! Everything was perfect! We stayed in an ocean view room which was well worth the extra money; we had a beautiful view all seven days. Everything was extremely clean and everyone was very friendly. We spent a majority of our time just relaxing at the pool and beach. Both were very nice and clean. We ate quite a few meals at the restaurants there at the resort but we ate most of our meals at the restaurants down on Ft. Lauderdale Beach Blvd. Bubba Gump's was the best; we ate there three times! Make sure to take a cruise to see all the mansions by the ocean; also make sure to visit the "smoothie guy" at The Riverwalk. His smoothies are the best! Especially the "Riverwalk"! I highly recommend this resort; we would love to go back one day.

My first stay at this location goes back to the early 90's when it was a Howard Johnsons. I have always liked the place because of its very convenient location and its excellent beach front. My wife and I recently spent a week there on a vacation plan. Marriot has done a superior job of renovating and improving the facility and installing a staff who could easily run a 5 star operation. This resort compares favorably with the level of facility and staff at Marriot's flagship hotel in Times Square, New York. We would spend another week there without hesitation.

Our vacation was beyond our expectations. Everyone in the resort was willing to give us advice on what to do and how to get there. One of the reviews I read said that the resort was not near any food or shopping, which freaked me out because we had no car, but it was only a short walk to the main strip. It was very hot in july so if a rental is possible then go for it but if not then there are other ways to get around. The pool was beautiful and the sight from the balcony was breathtaking. We were only there 3 days and wish we had more time. We will definitely go back.

We spent three nights at Wyndham Sea Gardens, and we loved it. We had a studio and it was literally steps from the beach. The unit was renovated, nicely furnished, and very clean. The beach was very nice, not crowded at all. We used the swimming pool closest to the beach, it was clean and nice - the other swimming pools looked nice as well but were further from our unit so we didn't use them. The gym was great for getting a few minutes of exercise in. We weren't travelling with children, but for those who are there seemed to be lots of activities organized for children at the resort. The only downside to the resort is that there aren't really any restaurants or stores within walking distance - you would definitely want to have a car if you stay here. All in all we were very happy with the resort and would definitely return.

Tropi Rock provides all the basic things you need for a comfortable pleasant vacation if your priority is not to spend too much money. The room which I stayed in was really comfortable . Closet, big mirror, fridge, coffee maker ceiling fan, AC -kind of noisy though- two night tables, lamps, tv and balcony. The bathroom has the basic stuff -soap. toilet paper, towels and a bathtub- the water in the shower is really nice -not those kind of lazy water strings!- in general the room was more than good for the price. The elevator is really antique but it works. The swimming pool is very clean and quiet. they also have a Gym which I could not use since I was really busy. The owner: Miguel "Mick" the nicest guy in the whole Ft. L, I think. Really kind and talkative always have the time and a smile for you. The woman -I don't remember her name- I think she is from Peru is really kind too. They also have a friendly lazy dog. One of the most important things is that the hotel is really quiet so if you are looking for silence and peace to relax this is the place Besides its convenient location close to the beach -less than 5 minutes walking distance- and if you do not have a car eazy access to bus routes N 40 and 11 to go to the Galleria mall and Ft.L downtown. To summarize the Tropi Rock Resort is the place for all those who are looking for a very good place with low cost and friendly owners. Thanx a lot guys and my best wishes. I'll try to upload some nice pics I took. Chaoooooo

I normally don't review, however this resort scored far above my expectations. Pros: Housekeeping was impressive. Front desk responded to requests within minutes. Minor issue with a parking pass was resolved by management without hassle within minutes. Perks: Beach right across the street. The mall below has 3 restaraunts and the CVS pharmacy has everything you need without having to leave. Refridgerator in room, good for keeping food for beach. Cons: The elevator often took a long time (one day waited for 8-10 minutes), because they were always full. So when dragging a cooler down to the beach, there was no other option. The parking is $15 a day in the garage and is the only option other than parking far away in an uncovered area. Suggestion: Get an ocean view room. Was definitely worth it for the view and the breeze!

I will recommend any one considering a vacation in Ft. Lauderdale to stay at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa. It is everything you can want in a resort hotel. Friendly professional service and a warm welcome when you arrive. The lobby smells wonderful with the Westin signature smell. I've stayed in quite a few hotels on this strip namely; Trump sonesta resort and spa, M Hotel(formerly le Meridian), Marriott harbor beach resort, Ramada beach resort to name a few. The westin resort and spa is now at the top of my list for best Florida hotels. It is a convention hotel, so its always busy through out the day, but you never feel lost in the crowd as their is plenty of space to roam free. The hotel sits literally on the sand, no walking over a bridge or crossing any streets, you walk from the pool area directly onto the beach! Beautiful! Prices are not more than any 4+ star hotel when it comes to parking and food. Do not expect 2 star prices at this hotel, as the exceptional service and a luxurious hotel does not come for free. They make their prices known, so if you do not want to pay for luxury and comfort stay at a lower end hotel, as a hotel of this caliber does not come cheap. After combing thru hundreds of traveler reviews I decided to give Westin a shot, and boy am I happy I did! I will suggest anyone considering staying here, you wont regret it.

The resort was nice. We appreciated it being pet friendly. The room was comfortable, although carpet was dirty and the sinks were clogged. (Maintenance addressed matter quickly.) The employees were pleasant and always courteous. The pool was excellent. Didn't care much for the casino since we're not gamblers, but my in-laws would love it. The steakhouse within the hotel was too pricey, but other eateries were fair to good depending on the place, reasonably priced and nice variety. Except, did not like the food at the Renegade. Air flow within hotel lobby was poor with heavy cigarette odor. Would have appreciated it more if the resort was closer to the beach. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend.

I visited with 9 people, and found the side by side room option to be a very spacious and comfortable choice. The resort had many entertainment options which I was not aware of, so if you have more time, there is enough to do. We were pleasantly surprised by a free pancake breakfast at the poolside on Sunday morning, and similar activities (free) take place every day. The resort because it is so big and spread over many buildings, took a while to find the actual registration/welcome centre. So, if you approaching racquet ball road from the south, pass a few buildings with the Vacation club logo before you get to the main welcome centre. Check-in on a Saturday afternoon was busy but very efficient with free face painting for the kids. At least a 30 minute drive from ft lauderdale beaches and 15-20 minutes from the airport (hollywood). Plenty of parking.

What a great way to start off a vacation.Been flying to Key West for 20yrs now and decided to drive down this time so we flew into Fort Lauderdale. The 1st stop was The Atlantic resort and spa. Got in a little early and decided to give an early checkin a try. Drove up to the vatlet and he unpacked the car while we were checking in. Check in was a breaze the same person that unloaded the car also escorted us to the room with our bags. The room was fantactic with a great view. Had a couple drinks in the room before going for a walk on the beach and dinner. Checked out the restaurants on the walk and even sat down at the one next door. Decided burgers and fries where not to our liking so we gave the hotel restaurant a try. The second best choice of the day. The meal was one of the best I have ever had. Im setting up my Key West trip for next year and I will be staying with them when I arive and when I depart. Thank you The Atlantic resort and spa for a wonderful start to a much needed vacation. See you next year.

Beautiful place with wonderful staff. Bed was really wonderful and the pool was heavenly. If you don't have a car it's problematic . Few restaurants close by. Also if you book on hotels. com or similar they don't tell you the resort will charge you an amenities fee for parking and Internet even if you don't use either. The staff isn't there 24/7 so you need to call and get gate code and room info before you arrive! It's hard to get a taxi to come get you. Keep that in mind.

The resort is an older Time Share but they are upgrading. They were replacing the walkways while I was there but thats O.K. it was nice to see the upgrades. Only 2 issues- The heated pool deck should have been washed down more often. every 2nd day woiuld have been nice. The BBQs are not gas ,charcoal only and gas would have been more convienent. The resort is located right on the beach which is very nice. Restaurants are to the south and a variety store is to the north both are walking distances. The variety store offers sundries, beer and wine. I was there with my daughter and her friend for university reading week and they both had assignments to complete. The resort was quiet for them to work around the pool. ùit was clean and presentable. The other guests were time share owners who were both polite and friendly. The timeshare salesperson was NOT a pressure salesperson yet informative if questioned The staff was also polite and approachable. I would definetly book again and recommend this location to my friends. Lastly if you are looking for a good clean quiet place to vacation at a reasonable price THIS IS IT.

This small resort made us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly. The staff are fabulous making us feel welcomed, answering our questions about the area and giving directions. The manager helped me with my computer communication issues, so that I could keep in touch with work during my holiday. The cleaning staff did a great job and we always had fresh towels. The resort is quiet. The location is amazing, just accross a single lane traffic street is a wide deep sandy beach and the ocean. The resort also has a pool, with lots of seating around it. Although, Sunrider does not have on site restaurants, it is not a problem as within 1/2 a block there are many eating establishments to choose from. It is a small resort, full of charm. We would be happy to return to the Sunrider Beach Resort.
