My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Sundial Resort in Sanibel Island. We rented bikes one day and had a great time exploring the island. The hotel made it very convenient to rent and go. The pool side is a great place to relax as well as the beach under one of the umbrellas. However, there were quite a few stingrays in the water. The rooms were clean but I wasn't expecting the location of our room. There are several condo units on the property instead of one main hotel. So we had to do a lot of walking around to get from the front desk to the beach. I was also hoping for a view of the water, but we were placed in one the buildings looking out onto the parking lot. I would recommend a water view. Overall, it was a nice hotel and a great place to take the kids.

We, 2 adults with 2 kids (10,14) stayed at the resort for 5 nights arriving from Orlando where we enjoyed Disney Park and Universal Studios. Therefore we all were keen to relax a bit. We booked at the resort the endless summer package including a room with 2 queensize beds. The packaged also included breakfast for 2 and a resort credit. Arriving at the resort we had a warm welcome and quick check-in although we did the booking online just 15 minutes before. We got a room upgrade with seaview. It was clean and large. AC was very silent using auto fan mode. We received the breakfast coupons the morning after and we positively astonished that we got 4/day instead on 2. This saved us another 26$/day. Thanks to Resort management! Breakfast was excellent starting from bread, jogurt, fruits, muffins, smoked salmon, scrambeled eggs, hashed browns etc. etc.. After having had breakfast we went to one of two large pools where we found enough chairs and umbrellas. Service was excellent at the pool. Guests are allowed to fish at the peer that belongs to the hotel. You can get a ready to fish equipement for free, some frozen shrimps baits for few dollars. Ask for best time to fish as this depends on tide. Catching fishes is very easy. You can also rent kajaks, jet skis, speed boots directly at the resort as well as booking fishing tours there. We also had dinner at the resort restaurant. Steaks were superb as well as the burgers, wraps and salads. In a nutshell we can recommend this hotel.

My sister and I stayed at Pointe Estero Beach Resort Sept. 9-15th in a two bedroom condo. The condo was exceptional in every way!! It was clean, modern, and spacious! The view from the condo's screened in balcony was more beautiful than we could've expected. The pool was clean, warm and never crowded. The hotel is a step away from the beach. I would definately recommend staying at Pointe Estero in the future and we will be returning ourselves for another relaxing, peaceful and beautiful vacation.

I stayed at the Pink Shell Resort on Dec 27-31, 2007. My room was a suite 3405, very nice, like new, with a great view. The beach was well supplied with chairs, and dragged every morning. I can't say anything bad about the hotel or service, everything was excellent. I would return there without hesitation. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. It's located in a nice location to the town, with shopping a walk away. I ate at JoJo's as well, all dinner's were delicious.

The Sanibel Inn was quite nice. The location is terrific...The pool and beach were quite great..The rooms are spacious, but could use some sprucing up. Our lamps were quite old, the rugs had some stains, etc..Nothing terrible, but clearly some new furniture and fixtures could be used. Housekeeping was very nice, the pool bar was staffed by a very fast, hard working woman. The prices were a bit high, but your at the beach bar, so what do you expect?.. Basically, the Sanibel Inn is nice and fine. It is a beach resort, not like staying in a fine hotel in Naples. You are paying for location here. We did have a great time, since we love Sanibel and Captiva so much. I recommend the Sanibel Inn best for families with children...Free bike rentals, beach toys to borrow, pool and beach next to each other, rooms with kitchens, seperate bedrooms...all make this a good choice.

This hotel is a hidden treasure - especially if you have small children. You are right on the beach (no roads to cross), the pool is warm and well-kept, the efficiency rooms offer all that you need to prepare easy meals (no need to worry about finding child-friendly restaurants or eating out every night with exhausted children.) We were very impressed by how kid-friendly in a low-key way this resort is - even down to the fact that in the room we had, the furniture too was kid-friendly, no sharp corners. Someone put a lot of thought into this resort. There's an outdoor tiki bar and live evening entertainment that winds up at 9pm - again, perfect for young families. We definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a good value resort and will definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay at the Waterfront Hotel. It was conveniently located in a quaint Cape Coral neighborhood. I've been coming to Florida since I was a little girl and this place was very nostalgic for us. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.(more comfortable than the Pink Shell Resort we stayed at the next night) Mark the manager upgraded us to the 1 bedroom suite for a fair price and the room was well worth it. The room was large and faced the pool and the Canal. Make sure to wake up early and take your coffee down by the water to watch for Dolphin and other jumping fish:) We will be back again

This hotel was exactly what we were looking for in a spring break hotel. The room was large and was right on the beach. A tiki bar with live entertainment 7 days a week, a restaurant serving beach fare and a full service roof-top restaurant and spring- break "contests" without having to leave the resort. The beach is cleaned daily. Jet ski and para-sailing rentals right there. This is not a luxury resort, but is the central, party place to be location of Fort Myers beach without question.Staff was very helpful. Would stay again.

This was our first time staying at the Gullwing resort. Originally we were going to stay at a Hotel in Sanibel island but was turned off by reviews. It was then that I read the reviews for the Gullwing resort. The reviews are true. It is clean, the staff is wonderful and go out of their way to help you. My wife and I originally rented a 1 bedroom condo but decided to upgrade to a 3 bedroom condo even though it was just the two of us. It seems the 3 bedrooms are on a higher floor which we prefer. We stayed on the 9th floor on the nort side of the building and had both a view of the Gulf of Mexico and the bay to the east. You have all the beach to yourself and there are plenty of good restaurants if you read reviews. We did not pick one single bad restaurant and ate all over the place from fish to steaks to Italian. Overall , I highly recommend the Gullwing resort and would definetely stay here again !

We loved this condo resort. It was close enough to walk the beach to the lighthouse. The pools were nice and so were the people. We took in many sites, used the kayaks and the bikes. Would definitely go here again.
