We were in gayana for the first few nights of our honeymoon, deciding to book it as we needed a bit of a getaway to relax afer the stress of wedding planning. The resort was absolutely perfect for our needs and delivered over and above what we had hoped for. Upon arrival at the jetty in KK our bags were taken care of and we were checked in without incident before being ushered onto one of the boats to the island. We arrived to a warm welcome on a beautiful bay, a very attractive place, well maintained and designed. We were really pleased with our room and bathroom, even though we were only in he jungle villas it was amazing to be sleeping over the water, although we did get jealous of the ocean view terraces and steps to the sea! the pool was perfect and the bar and restaurants had great food and service at a reasonable price. Highlight was the tame hornbill who frequents the pool area at lunchtime! Staff were extremely friendly and keen to help in whatever way they could. Free cocktails between 6 and 7 every night were great, and provided a good start to the evenings. Being almost a self contained resort on an island there is understandably not the greatest selection of restaurants (2 in the resort) and activities are limited to what gayana provides - trekking, kayaking, snorkelling mainly. This was perfect for us,but may be limiting if you're after an active break. This resort remains a highlight of our honeymoon and we would recommend it to anyone. A true tropical paradise!
