One thing to remember, Egypt's "star" rating is definately not the same as the American rating system. I believe this hotel was rated 4 or 5 stars, but I think it was more like a 3 star on American standards. THe food in the hotel was decent, the level of cleaniness, low. The hotel room was sparse and old. The sheets were clean, but the bathroom was gross. It was old and dirty. And I'm not even talking about the brown water from the faucets. Be prepared to wash and brush your teeth with bottled water, which they sell in the hotel (reasonably priced). THe staff was helpful, although the bell staff was a bit agressive for tips. In the lobby be careful what you talk about regarding your plans because people are always listening trying to get you a better deal than the one you have planned. THe hotel grounds are beautiful and we saw 2 weddings while we were there for 5 days. Don't plan on walking outside the hotel to check out the sights. The hotel is not located in a resort type area, better to have a guide take you around.It was ok, afterall you don't go to Egypt to stay in the hotel, right?
